WHAT NEXT! WHAT NEXT! The Kcv. Mr. Kalloch puts money in his pu^ue. Hia alleged amours at the Lcchnicre pay trell. The lady in black was a first rate investment, in Bank—for (oh! shantc, where is thy blush do we not reftd.. to^iay that "there was a good .'ittcndainee of ladies and gentlemen, old nnd young, at the vestTy of the Tremont Temple, Wedcnsdny, most of the ladies laying wide their cloaks and bonnets and appearing in full dress." Attendance of ladies and gentlemen! Pray for what Why to present the handsome donation of One Thousand Dollars to a man whom not even twelve of his fellow-citizens could be found to pronounce "not guilty" of adultry, of falsehood, and whiskey drinking, in a house of ill repute! Well might the ladies in such a presence "lay aside their cloaks and bonnets," as if to exhibit their charms to the lascivious eye of the reverend gentleman to,the utmost advantage. We do not—we cannot—believe that this proceeding has the sanction jpf any considerable number of our fellow-citizens—of any religious denomination—in Boston. We do not belcive that the great body, especially of the Baptists, look on with a smile of approval at these unseemly demonstrations —-demonstrations that look as if they were got up for the purpose of keeping this Kevercnd Mr. Kalloch before the public, whether the public will it or not. Even if innocent, even if the jury had given him an unconditional verdict of acquittal, his most judicious friends, it seems to us, should have urged him to retire awhile from the public gaze, until such time at least, as the rank, obscene atmosphere which his trial has stirred up all about him had had time to settle down, and retire to its native stews. We say this would have been his most becoming course, if proved innocent. But not having been so declared, we cannot but think that his reappearance at Tremont Temple as a minister of
God, and as the hero of a "full dress" demonstration in the vestry room, a daring, bold-faced aggravation of his original offense —winked at, it is true, by fathers and mothers, husbands and wives, but none the less daring and bold-faced.
There are scores of poor clergymen in Massachusetts—there are thousands of them in the country at large—men who are leading, and have led, lives without spot or blemish—whose stipend per annum does not exceed $500—just one "half the sum this Hcvercnd Mr. Kalloch gets for his alleged flirtations at the Lcchmcrc House. If these poor clergymen desire to have their salaries doubled, and made heroes of for life, they will thus understand that decidedly the nearest cut to it is to amend the decalogue right off by striking out those sections which forbid adultery and coveting of a neighbor's wife. Do not bo afraid! The ladies, the "friends of freedom," and "We" (of the Boston Atlas) will sustain you.—N. Y. Express.
3 A WARNING!
The Mt. Vernon Banner, in discussing the probability of the v^orld coming to an end on the-16th of June, says: "But if the world should come to an end, there is one class of people wo pity from tho bottom of our heart—tieivsjxijier delinquents Awful, terrible, fearful will be their doom In vain will they attempt to hide themselves in caves and coal cellars It will be of no use—there is no escape for them! Their only hope for redemption is to square off with the printer by the 16th of June, and take a receipt, so that St. Peter will admit them within the gates of the Celestial City. A hint to the wise is sufficient."
A PICTURE OF SUNDAY LIFE IN CHICAGO —Here is a picture of Sunday life in Chi caco, furnished by the Times: llcrc in Chicago on Sunday, we have 56 churches open during the forenoon and evening but at the same time there are no less than 80 ball rooms, in each of which the "band" plays from morning till mid night, and waltzing goes on without intermission. In addition to these "festivities," wc have two theatres, each with its performers in tights, and very short garments, rivaling Kllsler in their graceful evolutions. Saloons have their front doors closed by proclamation, but do a thriving business through side entrances.
PANIC ABOUT WHEAT.—The St. Louis Intelligencer of Monday says: A very sudden and entirely unexpected rise has taken place in wheat. This re suits from tho general disaster attending the wheat, crop this year. The extraordinary cold and unfavorable season has dc stroyed many hundred thousand acres of wheat that a few weeks since was promis ing enough. We understand that some very heavy wheat consuming prophet in St. Louis is predicting that "good white will soon bring $2 a bushel. It will be time then for tho Comet to come.
HANDSOME ACKNOWLEDGEMENT.—At a meeting of the Democracy of Mason County, at Maysville, Ky., a few days since, the following, among other resolutions were adopted
Resolved, That the old line -Whigs who rose superior to the prejudices and animosities of other days, and co-operated with the Democratic party in its late struggle with the combined force of Abolitionism and Know-Nothingism, were actuated by dis interested and patriotic motives, and wc hereby tender them our sincere and heart' felt acknowledgement of the value of their services to the Democratic party and to the country
Iloors DENOUNCED IN THE BIBLE.—The following is an extract from Isaiah iii 18. "In that day the Lord will take away the bravery of their tinkling ornaments about their feet, and their combs, and their round tire like the moon."
John Quincy Adams, Esq., son of Hon. Charles Francis Adams, and a direct descendant of two Presidents, is to read the Declaration of Independence at the celebration in Boston, next 4th of July.
TBLBGRAPn TO SAN FRANCISCO. Itia stated that a number of gentlemen «f New York, largely interested in the telegraph business, have a project on foot "to connect New York and San Francisco by direct line of telegraph.

SINGER'S SEWING MACHINES.
GREATSUCCESS
i^$}---r!
IS always the most conclusive
proof cf great merit. Judged by this test there is no labor-saving machine before the public comparable to Singer's Sewing Machines. After establishing the highest reputation in the United States tlicy were exhibited at the late "Exposition Univcrsclle" in France,-where they carried off the highest premium and a great manufactory to make them has been built in Paris.
In every Branch of Industry
In which sewing is to be done, those machines can be used with immense profit. As the speca ot mc Railway train is to traveling on foot, so is sewing with Singer's Machines compared with hand-sew-ing. No" tailor, shoemaker, dressmaker, carriage trimmer, saddler, hatter, &c., Ac., should be without one. Tho fair profit of using one of these machines, regularly employed, is
One Thousand Dollars a year. In all private families where there is much sewing to be done these maehinca are an invaluable assistance. Planters and hotel keepers find them particularly convenient and profitable. These machines arcsimnlc in their construction and very strong and durable, being the only kind of Sewing Machine ever made, by n-hich every sort of work, coavse or fine, could be perfectly executed. Thousands of inferior and worthless Sewing Machines have been made and sold under various names, but Singers Machines alone have been found everywhere to satisfy the wants of the public. l'iain printed instructions for using, aro sent with each machine, from which any one can readtly acquire the art of managing them. The machines are packed securely to go to any part of tho world. To all persons desiring more particular information wc will, on application by letter at either of our offices forward a copy of I. M. LACOUR'S CONCENTRATED ACID will, in five hours after being mixed, change five gallons of the mcst acid Vinegar that can be found in tho market. By the u*e"of Laconr's Concentrated Acid, vinegar can be made for one do'lar and sixty cents per barrel.
FOR MAKING LIQUORS, Laconr's Oil require preparation—only pour the oil into the whisky lashakc well. Theliquors thus mado will havo. a fine natural aroma, a full, rich, oily taste a beautiful traneparcnt COIOT and a fine head. Lacour's oils exert three diatinct properties in converting, common whisky to brandy, gin, Ac. The first property combines with aud subsides in the form of tloculent particles the whole of the grain oil.Amvlic Alcohol.) The whisky is thus deprived of tliat peculiar irritating and bnrning taste, and bccomcsa neutral spirit the second property cor.sisis in an oily mncillaginous taste imrwrtcd to tho liquor, which renders it mellow, ana imparts an apjearance of great age the tliisd property is exhibited in tho rich vinous nutty odor that is imparted to the'liqucr, which renders distinction from the genuine brands impossible.
These oils arc put up in quart flasks each flask contains sufficient oil for making three hundred gallons of liquor. Full and comprehensive directions accompany the bottles. Price, #2 pe. bottle.
