MOM FRUOB or K. HR Bioorar—We liaveal^kjfi iappoied that the intolerant nnd$l§c9edfipirit whieh the Know-Nothing* have manifested towards the Catholics would sooner or later, extend into other denominations and sl&ts. Nor have we been disappointed. By the New Jersey papersa we learn that a portion of this party of bigots in that State have got up a crusade against the Methodist Episcopal Church organisation, which they denounce as anti-ie-publican, and but little, if any, better than that of the Catholic Church. A Reverend Mr. Adams, who is a leading know nothing, Appears to be chief man in this foray against the Methodist. In Georgia, too, similar manifestations have been made. A KnowNoihing Judcre there has decided that members of the Universalist order are not competent to testify in a court of justice and this same Judge has actually excluded three persons from testifying on this ground!— Thus we begin to see the natural and legitimate results of this unholy and wicked crusade of the Know-Nothings against the religious opinions and sentiments of others. Whose turn to be denounced will come next, none can tell. But come it must, if this party be allowed to rule Boston Times. {tJrThe Rochester Union notices a grand hunt in the vicinity of Rochester, by about seventy railroad pioneers. The day's results showed an aggregate of 2,327 heads, consisting chiefly of gray, black and red squirrels, partridges and and quails. In the evening they had a grand supper, and made arrangements to make the railroad hunt an annual festival.

(^7-Tlie new rifle musketraanufacturcd at the United States armories has the length of its barrel reduced from 42 to 40 inches, the exterior reduced and the calibre from 0.69 to 0.58 of an inch. The barrel has three decreasing grooves, with a point and a rear night brazed on, graduated ffom one to one thousand yards. The weight of the new arm is one quarter of a pound lighter than the old model. The lock is changed to a front action swivel lock, with the Maynard attachment,- which will contain sixty primers. The ball is an ielongated, hollow, pointed ball weighing 497 grains heavier thairi the present round ball. The new model rifle requires but sixty grains of powder, which 'is fifty grains lesis than the present service charge of the smooth-bore muskets.
