There will bean association of the teachcrs of Montgomery county and adjoining counties, held in Alamo on Friday and Saturday, the 7th and 8th of April, 1854. This Association is now thoroughly orir-in-

i/.ed, having adopted for its good government and mutual harmony a constitution and by-laws similar to those of oilier organiz itions of the kind, and many energetic, competent and whole-souled teachers a have attached themselves to it. Permanent officers were elected at the last meeting, held in VounUville on the 18lh of February last for a term of six month?:, as the constitution requires dating the first regular meeting from the 7th and 8th of April next.

The officers chosen arc as follows. Prof. Caleb Mills of Wabash College, President Francis M. Black of Alamo, Vice President James H. McCollougli of Urawfordsville, Treasurer Joseph A. Gilkcy of Urawfordsrillee, Secretary W. P. McKcy, of Vountsvilie, Francis Hammel and John W. Cupner, of Alamo, Managers.

The following members were .selccicd to deliver addresses from time to time during next meeting: Prof. Caleb Mills will deliva -r the opening address on Friday at 11 o'clock A. M- F. M. Black on reading, some time during the afternoon session of the same d.iy. Prof. Mills again at candlelighting,on the subject of common school government. Forenoon session, Saturday the Cth, James MeCollough on Mental

Arithmetic, and Joseph A. Gilkey on Written Arithmetic. Prof. J. L. Campbell of Wabash College will deliver a populor ad •-.dress at 11 o'clock. Other eminent teach -ers and speakers from various sections of the county will be in attendance and deliver addresses when ever opportunity offers.

The afternoon session and candle-lighting

III "will be taken up with miscellaneous business, after which the Association will adjourn to meet in three months at some convenient point within the bounds of the association as the constitution defines. All practical teachers, ex-teachers and others are earnestly invited to attend and become members of the Institution. All are most rordially solicited to be in attendance alour fw. public addresses. The ladies especially are most warmly invited to attend and cheer us as usual with their presence. The board of jmangers have secured the large and comodious Methodist church, in which to hold the

Association. The citizens of Alamo and surroundinir A country are requested to extend their usual hospitality on that occasion. ",v Come one, come all.
