Decker Bros-

PIANOS.

The sweetest toned piano on the market. Read what some of its friends have to say about it: To 1 Vhmii It 3luy Concern:

I bought a Decker Brothers piano from Mr. (Jeorge F. Hughes in ls'.io. It lias iriven perfect satisfaction. I have no fault to find with it. I think it a SITKWOK instrument. In quality of tone it cannot be excelled. After four years' trial we will say that if we should buy another piano we would select the Decker.

TO LOOK NICE.

ALL WOMEN DESIRE IT.

Some Points About How to Accomplish the Desired End.

CsrrrlAL TO oirp. IJlD* READERS.) It is the most natural wish in life with women to well and look nice.

It is born with them. It makes a world of difference to the wee little girl whether or no there is a bit of pretty lace or bright ribbon about her dress or on her hat.

Have you ever stopped to ask why the few look so lovely while the many around you are so haggard?

Look into it. and you will soon find them blessed with a perfect and healthy organism.

Above all, you will find that no female complaints have seared their lives no Jreadful backache, no irregular periods, no bearing down, or any kind of uterus, ovarian, or womb trouble.

You are not like them now, but you may reach their high level If you will. You suffer, but there is a remedy.

Li/dia E. PinkhaniH Vegetable Compound is the grandest remedy ever discovered for women. It restores the womb and all irregularities to their natural healthy condition, and makes possible a lovely old age. It cures every form of female complaint, from leucorrha'a to tumors in the womb.

EXCURSION RATES.

We Will Have Tluui Ou AU the Koad« for Our Chrysanthemum Show.

All the roads running into Crawfordsville will furnish excursion rates to Crawfordsville during our chrysanthemum fair. The committee on transportation was Gus Truitt, Joe Fisher, Louis

Otto, Louis Bischof aud George Gialiam. and it deserves a vote of thanks for its hard but success crowned labors. It was doubted at first whether rates could be had but the committee went about the matter in the right way and lauded the prize. This morning word was received from the Central Tratlie Association that during the fair a rate of one and one-third fare would be given on all roads running into this city, the rates being good from all stations within a radius of seventy-five miles. This is quite a boom for our liower show and will draw many persons to this city. Special inducements will be made to all excursionists to visit Crawfordsville.

Figuratively Spiking.

The chances are that a one time advertisement, or a very small advertisement will not pay. It is only continuous persistent effort, and effort that is strong enough to make an impression, that will be found adequately profitable.

Once in awhile the one time advertisement on a speciul occasion will bring good results, but not one time in a hundred, unless the advertisement has been fairly well advertised in the community before.

If the pier of a bridge is to be built in the middle of a river the builders commence by sinking stones for the foundation. If they dropped the lirst stone and quit because they could not see it. the pier would never be built.

If they dropped a dozen stones, one ou top of the other and quit before the pile was big enough to stick out of the water, they would lose their time aud their stones.

But if they go on. put in a good solid foundation and build up from that they will in time raise a pier that will be strong aud permaucut and that will hold up a useful aud necessary bridge.

It is just so with advertising. The first ads you drop in only serve as a foundation—they do not serve as anything if you do not drop in enough of them—but if you keep on piling'one ou top of the other, in the end you will have a pier which will sustain the bridge of business all the rest of your life.

The water of competition will waste away some of the stones and they will have to be replaced, but once the pier is built, the repairs will not be very expensive.

indicate disasters to bfeipping and great destruction of property, aggregating in value several huudrcd thousands of dollars.

In this city the storm raged with great violence and in the center of the town the streets are strewn with wrecked telephone and telegraph wires. These crossed and twisted wires were a menace to life and destructive fires were threatened in many places. Many horses while being driven through the streets trod on "live" wires and were killed by electricity. The suffering brutes that were not instantly killed had to bo shot in order to put them out of their misery.

A Providence, R. I., the storm was very violent and caused great damage. Telephone, telegraph and trolley wires were swept from
