A CKKTAiN Coal Creek life long Republican will vote the Democratic ticket this year. —.4ryus-Xeics.
For every life long Republican in Coal Creek township who will vote the Democratic ticket this year there will be ten life long Democrats who will vote the Republican ticket. Mark that:
I'koim.k should all shamefully they were the price of tin plate politicians two years
IlKWAKK OF THE VOTE TUADEIi. The air is full of rumors concerning trading in votes for this or that candidate. It will be observed that all these rumors originate among Demo .era Is. The candidates on the Democratic ticket are suspicious of each ctlier. and they are proposing all sorts of trades with Republicans. Each
Democratic candidate imagines that he is to be sacrificed in the interest of some other candidate. There are good grounds for these suspicions. The friends of lirooksliire are scared and tiiey are willing to sacrifice everybody else on the ticket in his interest. Vancleaves frieuds are equally active in proposing to swap any other man or for that matter a half dozen men on the Democratic ticket to save him from impending doom. lien Warbinton's friends are leaving no stone unturned and are Javish in their promises foxvotes iu return for any other man on •••.the Republican ticket. Jntnes G. Johnson and Milt McKee they seem to regard as not in the race and they, with the remainder of the ticket, are being kicked about as footballs. These trafticers in votes should receive no encouragement from Republicans. There is no necessity for any Republican to listen to the songs of these Democratic sirens. Every man on the Republean ticket can be and will be elected if Re publicans will but firmly but courteously decline any and all these prop positions. If every Republican re mains loyal to the ticket it can pull through with a majority of two hun dred and without the loss of a man
The Republican party in Montgomery county was never before in better working trim thr.n it is to-day. The candidates are loyally supporting each other and they have at their backs a united and harmonious laity. Tm•loru.NAi. would therefore urge that the Republicans from every ^iook and corner of the countygive along pull. strong pull and a pull altogether and they shall have laid up for them crown of great, glorious and triumph ant. rejoicing when the returns come in.

WKDXKSDAY, OCTOBEIl 31, 1894.
Oi Democratic friends arc now busy every dnv in the week trying to make the people believe that a tariff of 40 per cent, on sugar will not incresae the price of sugar. If the tariff does not increase the price of commodities, what possible objection ran any one have to a tariff?
Dkmiioratic papers are claiming that the price of clothing has gone dowu since the McKinley bill was repealed. They do not seem to know that so far us manufactured woolen goodsare concerned. the McKinley bill is still in force. The repeal of this duty does not take effect till next January, jo
remember how deceived about by Democratic ago. Tin plate
was cheaper when the McKinley law was repealed than when it was enacted. Tinware went down instead of up. under the McKinley bill, and everv knows it.
Till-, great Mills bill of 1SS, which was formulated by the Democratic, party. put a duty of 1-3 cents per pound on raw sugar, and "2 2-5 of one cent per pound on refined sugar. Who can tell wiiat position the Democratic party occupies on sugar? Mr. lirooksliire. in order to conform to all shades of opinion, voted for a tariff of 40 per cent, on sugar, and then, on the same day, turned around and voted for free sugar.
In several Democratic counties the Commissioners have their election booths constructed without door or curtain to screen the voter from observation. This is in direct violation oi section 40 of the election law. If there are any booths in this com. thafcaie not properly protected by screens or curtains Republicans should not permit the election to proceed until the law is complied with. The secresy of the ballot must be preserved.
A vuik against lirooksliire means a vote to repeal the new tariff law.— A njiis-Scirs.
If all who would like to see the new tariff law repealed instanter should vote against lirooksliire he would have a mighty slim chance to even get into Congress again. I irover Cleveland nouneed the new tariff law as apiece of party perfidy and party dishonor, and Senator Mills, of Texas, said there were not one thousand people in the 1'nited .States who approved it. Mr. Cleveland so despised the new tariff law that he would not sign it. If the people understand that a vote for lirooksliire means an indorsement of the new new tariff law, then Mr Krookshire's vote will be slim.
IN1 MICROBES.
Single
Individual* From Spe cintcit.
The old line of pseudo scientists, the superstitious, self-styled "scholars" of the early part of this and the latter part of the eighteenth century, believed that filth would breed microbes, hut. as the absurd idea of "spontaneous generation" has long since been exploded, it will not be discussed iu this "note," which is solely intended to explain the manner in which microbes multiply. There are several species of these minute creatures and they have various ways of reproducing their species, but the most common is what the investigators term "reproduction by fissure." If, with a strong microscope. We carefully watch a microbe for a short time we see 2 "constriction" appearing on each side in the center of the body. This soon shows itself in the shape of a line across, and then, all of a sudden, the microbe separates in the middje and behold, we have two in place of one! Each of these rapidly increases in size until they are as large as the original, when the miracle of the side spots and transverse line appears and iu place of two mieroles we have four. By this wonderful plan of reproduction one increases to two, two to four, four to eight and eight to sixteen until within the space of five hours we have two million wiggling individuals from a single specimen.
The Death of Iliuintbal.
Hannibal was made an exile, not as commonly supported, through Roman influence so much as from the personal animosity of his countrymen. After the defeat at Zimina he turned his attention to the political affairs of Carthage, and inaugurated a system of reform which lie carried out so rigorously that he soon found himself intensely hated by a large faction of the Carthaginians. Iiehind him was the honesty of the country, however, and, finding he could not be swerved from his purpose, the rogues in office attempted to assassinate him. Finding that his death had been determined on Hannibal left Carthage, went to Tyre, and thence to the dominions of Antiochus, whom he soon enlisted in war with Rome. The war proved a failure, and Antiochus was ordered to surrender Hannibal, who got news of the demand and made his escape. Roman hatred followed him to Hithynia. and, finding himself on the point of being given up, he died from poison. The story that he once had a meeting at Ephesus with his old enemy, Scipio Africanus, is told on fairly good authority.

Specific for Croup.
I consider Chamberlain's Cough Remedy a specific for croup. It is very pleasant to take, which is one of the most important requisites where a cough remedy is intended for use among children. I have known of cases of croup where I know the life of a little one was saved by the use of Chamberlain's Cough Remedy." J. ,1. Catarrh starts in the nasal passages, affecting eyes, ears and throat, and is in fact the great enemy of the mucous membrane. Neglected colds in the head almost invariably precede catarrh, causing an excessive flow of mucous, and if the raucous discharge becomes interrupted the disagreeable results of catarrh will follow, such as bad breath, severe pain across the forehead and about the ears, a roaring and buzzing sound in the ears and often times a very offensive discharge. Ely's Cream Balm is the acknowledged cure for ihese troubles.
VN. An Old Soliiicr Jlade Happy. "During my term of service in the army I contracted chronic diarrhoea," says A. E. Bending, of Halsey, Oregon. "Since then I have used a great amount of medicine, but when I found any that would give me relief they would injure my stomach, until Chamberlain's Colic, Cholera and Diarrhtea Remedy was brought to my notice. I used it and will say it is the only remedy that gave me permanent relief and no bad results follow." l'or sale by Nye & Booe, 11! north Washington street, opposite court house.
