McCoy, at (iartiolil, the occasion be* the marriage of their daughter, .isa M., to Mr. Henry Douglass, a highly respected and imlustriousyounjf fanner of Montgomery county. Precisely at o'clock the bride and frroom descended the stairway to the parlor, keeping time to the sweet strains of the wedding march played by Miss Fannie Doyle. Here in the presence of a large number of invited friends and relatives the beautiful marriage ceremony was performed by Kev. Wainscot, pastor of the Uartield Christian church. The bride was attired in a pale sky blue dress trimmed in white lace. The groom wore the conventional black. The parlor had been tastefully decorated with potted plants for the evening. Mr. and Mrs. Douglass as guests of honor then led the way to the dining room where such a bounteous repast was served as Mrs. McCoy knows how to prepare. During the evening the newly Mr. and Mrs. Douglass were the recipients of numerous and valuable preseuts and the hearty congratulations of the guests. on Thursday the newly wedded couple were entertained by the parents of the room, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Douglass at their home, near Indian Ford. an
expedition into the wilds of Africa. The steamer is 'waiting at New York for him and his companions, but they all go off save the wily old Dodge, who has become fascinated by a sweet serio-comic singer, ((hid consequently gets "left." How to explain matters a mystery to Dodge. His valet goes to the rescue and hides his master in Nebraska until the expedition shall have returned. This is all right hut for old Dodge's son—a second prodigal who under an assumed name married the serio-comic, deserts her and in her chase to tind him drops into the resi deuce of old Dodge.
The complications and intricacies surrounding the whole are intensely funny. The company is a strong one and includes such favorites as William Jerome, the famous parodist, Neb Monroe. W. S. K. Mack. Fredrick Mowers. Harry Cottrell, Thos. Sedgwick. Miss Nellie Sennett, Marjorie Fair, Jeanne Graves, Laura Thome and little Elsie Lower. This is decidedly the best company which has ever presented "The Prodigal Father' and has made such an enviable reeon in New York and other Eastern cities

The sheriff at Hillsdale saw Smith, but as the dispatch was not signed by an officer he did not make the arrest, and the marriage ceremony was performed. Friday the Muleahy family made a public statement that the dead girl tad confessed on her deathbed that Walter S. Rent day In Paris is a very important occasion. The landlord Is king in a realm where exactitude is not only encouraged but enforced. An Englishman says that he once went to see tv landlord about some matter connected with the house he hired. The frenohmaii proved to be a very suspicious and inquisitive old gentleman, who had made his fortune In the candle trade. "What do you sell?" he Inquired. The Englishman acknowledged that ho made hla bread by writing for the magazines. The landlord shrugged his shoulders. "1 am afraid," said ho, "that you will not bo exact with your rent, on the fifteenth of the month." He evidently had old-fashioned notions of literature as well as the other arts, and preferred that Ills tenants should be, like himself, comfortablj' In trade. So, in order to vindicate his vocation, tbe Englishman went to call upon him in person, on yie fourteenth, rent In hand. I told you so!" exclaimed the preciso old merchant. "I know you wouldn't bo exact, at the day and tho hour fixed. You havo brought your rent twenty-lour hours too soon!"— Youth's Companion.
