JUDGE BAKER TO TAKE A HAND.

Tl»t« Mriklug Miner* Fooling AVlth I nited States Mall Cars lu SullMnn County.

Special to The Journal. IXDiAXArot.is, June li. —The strike of the coal miners will receive attention nt the hands of Judge Baker, of the 1'nited States court. He was advised to-day that a combination tram, including a mail cur, was stopped and interfered with bv Sullivan county strikers on the Evansvillc & Terre Haute railroad. The 1'nited States Marshal, who is now in Sullivan county, understood that federal authorities will bring every body associated with interference into court. A representative of the receiver of the St. Louis Air Line road was in the federal court to-day and recited acts of violence which had been committed against the property of the company.

He was directed to bring the matter officially before the court, if the attorneys concluded that it was deserving of I'ederal attention.

Cicero MeCluer A Sons' brick yards are busier than ever before and ever before and every brick burned in the last kiln has been sold. Pui-i ng the coal miners' strike the supply of coal ran out during the burning and about 40.000 brick came out a little oJT color, but were good for all purposes and readily disposed of. Another kiln containing 240.000 is almost ready to burn but will not be until a large supply of coal is on hand. The force will go right on filling the other kilns and two or three will probably be burned at once.

The firm has 13 acres of ground in its C'rawfordsville plant and on it are three kilns with a capacity of Too.ooo. There are 10 'dry sheds with a capacity of 10.000 each, so a force of is men kept on the jump all the time. The firm this season will turn out 2.000,000. turning out 42 bricks every minute of every working hour. The machinery is of the latest improved pattern, including the famous I'otts crusher. Of the brick manufactured here all except about 000,000 are used in this county.

The firm also lias a large yard at Waynetown with a kiln with a capacity of 190.000. All the brick made in that yard are used right in Waynetown.

McClure Sons pay out in wages every month S1.200. all of which is spent with the merchants and business men of Montgomery county. They make the largest brick now on the market and have one of the leading and most active ind ustries in Montgomery conntv.
