CRYSTAL WEDDING.

Mr. mill Mr». H. ttomiell Cclebrutv tl l'*iftv«iitli Anniversary of Their Marriage Last evening.

Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Bonnell most appropriately celebrated their crystal wedding last evening by a large reception at their home, on east Market street. The guests were received at three hours. (5:00, 7:30 and 8:30 o'clock, and during these hours of reception nearly 300 guests were entertained. The residence had been very elaborately decorated and there was a great profusion of beautiful flowers. Smilax and other decorative vines gracefully drapped the eliandaliers and mantels, while palms and other tropical plants were banked in advantageous positions. In the dining room the artistic work was of an especially high character and the effect was both unique and pleasing. The room had been made a regular conservatory and was lighted with candelabra. In the bow window was a huge bank of plants and bright flowers. The central piece was a magnificent lily, the hollow stem of which had been utilized to allow a small fountain to play from the calyx of the flower. A regular supper was served the guests, the viands including many delicacies in advance of the season. The orchestra was present and rendered delightful music throughout the evening. After 10 o'clock dancing was begun and indulged in until a late hour. The party was, indeed, a brilliant and successful one, nothing being spared to make it enjoyable and pleasant for the guests, all of whom were most admirably and hospitable entertained. There were a large number of new and very beautiful evening gowns initiated on the occasion and the costuming of the ladies was unusually elegant. Mr. and Mrs. Bonnell were made Hie recipients of a large number of very elegant presents, appropriate to the anniversary, and a magnificent array of cut-glass was displayed—many pieces being simply magnificent. Mr. and Mrs. Bonnell have the best wishes of hosts of friends for many returns of the happy day.

The Wedding Hook.

Among the large number of beautiful wedding gifts received by one of the recent brides here was a very handsome copy of the recently issued Wedding Book, which is proving such a source of satisfaction to brides in general. This particular copy—about IS by 12 inches in size—is bound in white watered silk, with a wide margin of white kid embellished with orange blossoms in gold. Within the covers is a particular page for a bit of the wedding gown, the travelling gown, other gowns of the trousseau, lists of presents, congratulatory notes and telegrams, press notices, etc. The traveling gown page is suitably engraved in the lower corner with a coach, old shoes and a trunk. Across the top is the couplet:

Here is the gown she wore nwny, So bright and guy on her wedillng day., The first page is headed thus: This is the gowu In which she stood When she went to the priest and suld she would.

The lower edge of ,tlie cover bears the well-known bridal axiom: Something cU, something new.

Something borrowed, something blue.

Mr. Vpdyke Delayed.

Mr. Updyke, the evangelist, will not begin his meetings at the Christian church until a week from next Sunday. He has just closed a successful revival with 100 additions to the church at Tuscola, 111., and he is completely worn out. He will spend the next teii ten days in a much needed rest.
