Special to Tlio Journal. INDIANAPOLIS. March r. The .Supreme Court to-day decided the school fund law to be constitutional which provides for the return of all unexpended balances in excess of 100 yearly to the State treasurer by township trustees. A large sum is involved in the suit. If the attorney general is Allowed to collect these amounts for the State, as he has others under the general law, it will be about

which dish to choose, it being
understood that he can take but one from each course. The vote has been heavy in each ward and over twothirds of it is out in every precinct. It is said that a number of Democrats have voted, especially in the second ward, but the truth of this assertion is questioned. The rumor probably had birth in the fact that the poll was a careless one and the names of numerous good Republicans were omitted causing some of them to be questioned as to their politics by the challengers. There have also been rumors of combinations of candidates but these are also unsubstantiated. TUK .1OI:I:.\AI. will be better able to tell on to-mor-row of the result and what brought it about.
YOUNG MEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION
Meeting of the IMrectors—Good Department Kcjort»~The Outlook.
The directors of the Young Men's Christian Association held their regular monthly meeting last night, at the Association building. The different departments submitted reports which showed the affairs of the organization to be in good condition. There are almost 3S0 members at present, the newly appointed committees for the year are getting systematically to work, and the outlook for the Association is a hopeful one.
In consequence of the recent change in ownership of the building plans for the future of the Association were up for discussion. A special committee, appointed at the last meeting of the board, reported that it had arranged with the owners of the building to lease it until July 1st, 180.1. provided the funds necessary to complete the Association budget can be raised. The estimate of finances required for the 15 months ending July. 18115. has been made and it will be necessary to raise 82.000 among the friends of the association. The amount asked for is a very reasonable one. and it is believed will be raised in time to secure the lease, and the continuance of the association's work. After its more than six years of successful work here, it is hardly thought that the unusual circumstances of the past few months will be allowed to result in its abatement or continuance.
After Mr. Tolbert.
Suit has been brought against J. E. Tolbert to compel him to settle with the Jesse Durham estate. Jesse Durham died back in the 'TO's and left his property to his wife, half of it to go to his collateral heirs after her death. Mr. Tolbert, so the complaint avers, has never settled in full and the suit is filed to have him bring forward $",000 which it is charged he has never accounted for.

THE ELECTION,
A Itig Vote tolled and Great I'nrri-tnliity A» Totlie ltfMilt.
All day long candidates before the Republican primary .election have been hopping about in the mud. trotting up their friends to the polls and looking fter their interests generally. Most of the voters did not wait to be loolced up but came in early this morning to help elect the candidates. There is eally great uncertainty as to the result and until after the votes are counted this evening no one can name the candidates. It has been a harumscarum election in which the formidable array of talented candidates has confused the most experienced suffragist.
