Tilt) Second Dronbsreer Ltbol Suit Meets An IgQowiuoua fate. OM man Dronberger did not show up in the oircnit court this morning when the second of hie libel suits against the erstwhile editors of the Frankfort Crescent, was oalled for trial. The first suit for $f,000 was fur injury to business and the second for injury to character. He WHS given a certificate of bad character bj the jury in the first case so the old chap evuleully concluded that be didn't need to sue for one. His case wis a fake all the way through and :ltarly demonstrated the injustice of the Iudiana libel laws which allow any irre sponsible shyster to ni6h into court and sue for a character when ho hasn't got enongh to sustain a chicken killing pole cat. The only beautiful thing about this business is the regularity with which the plaiutiffe are knocked out.

PAQUET BLUSHED

WHEN 00NFK0HTED BY A SWIN

Who Had Been Worked Out by Hiiuqust Proves a Rare Uatoh.

•fa-

Louis Paquet, the man who attempted to swindle the banks of this oity in the last few days, is not the harmlees jay he was at first thought to be. He is a noted crook for whom the officers of several States have been seeking for months, and who has worked out the banks in numerous towns. His identification was made complete this afternoon by Mr. V. T. Barker, the cashier ot the Home Savings Bank of Kalamazoo, Mioh., which Has one of the viotims of Mr. Paqnet. Mr. Barker arrived this afternoon and went at once to the jail in company with Sheriff Davis. He walked up to the cell of the young German who ut the sight ot him gave a sudden start, blushed a fiery red and without a word on Mr. Barker's .rt stammered: "I don't know you! I don't know yon!" "No one said you did, Mr. B. Byer, but why didn't you

stay to the circus that day?" respondeu)Mr.Barker and turniug to the Sheriff he added, "This is the very man who got into us last Juno for several hundred dollars. Paquet fairly collapsed, but in an embarassed manner continued to protest that he didn't know Mr. Barker. Mr. Batker stated to THE JOURNAL later in Eleton'sbank that I'aquet came to Kalamazoo in June and worked exactly the same scheme there that he attempted here. He got into three banks for about §300 apiece and got away without even a tail feather pulled. He worked tha Kalamazoo National, tho Home Savings and the Kalamazoo Savings. He gave different names aj. each bank and was known by Mr. Barker as B. Byer, a builder and contractor. Mr. Baker was nearly tickled to death to see his old friend and will insist on a visit from him.Asure casa is against him there eo it is likely that he will be given up on requisition papers. This will save this county the expense of a trial.

Paquet has operated successfully ail over Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and Illinois. He is wanted at many places and the current issue of the American Banker contains a great write up and description of him.

Sheriff Davis has received a printed circular from a detective in Dan ville, Illinois. who desires to learn the wLereabouVs of a man who worked jnst such a scheme as PI.quet tried to work on the banks bore. The letter contains a description ot the roan which corresponds exactly to tk'it ot Paquet. The Illinois detective will probably come over to take a look at our involuntary guest.

Numerous rewards have been offered for his capture.

The Genuine and the Sham. Every good thing has its host of imitators every genuine article its counterfeits The imitators always choose the most valuable and popular article to counterfeit, so that when they claim their sham to bo equal, or as good, or the same as "So and bo's," tho public may depend upon it that "So and-So's'*article is tho best of the kind. Tho sham proves the genuine merit of the thing it copies and never has this been better illustrated than by the imitations of Alicock's Porous Plasters.

Allcocl-'s Porous Piaster is the standard of excellence tbo world over, and its imitators in their cry that theirs is as good as Alicock's" aro only emphasizing ihisfuct and admitting "Alicock's" to be the acme of perfection, which it is their highest ambition to imitate. The difference between the genuine and these imitations, which copy only general appearance, is as wide as that between copper and gold.

Tho only safe way for purchasers is to always insist upon having Allcock's.Porous Plasters. They are the only perfect plasters ever produced.
