RED MEN BLOEIVE,

A Grand row-Wow' and Corn feast""''in damp Last Evening, The braves of Seiota Tribe, I. O. 11. M., gave a delightful pow-wow to their squaw friends last evening at tlieir camp in the Ornbaun block. Tho affair was a thoroughly enjoyable one from every standpoint and there were uo less than 139 persons sat down to an excellent spread provided by tho caterers. After refreshments the remainder of the even ing was passed in various amusements, quite a number indulging in the pleas ures of tho dance, which, however, WAS anything but a war dance. Before the time arrives for another pow-wow and feast tho tribe will bo located in its new camp on Green street, where the accommodations will be of tho liuest.

The Amiable Auabels.

Yesterday evening Mrs. Charlev Anabel had her lord and master arrested for the double barreled offense ot assault and intoxication. The trial of the worthy creature is in progress this afternoon in the Mayor's court. It appears that Mr. and Mrs. Anabel reside and on Friday are at homo to their friends in a luxuriously appointed flat "over bey ant" the marble courts and sparkling fountains appertaining to Hie Monon station which rises from the plain like the temple at Delphi. Although surrounded with all the heart could de

sire from a shot gun to a capacious growler can, Mr. and Mrs. Anabel do not live in peaco and unity. Mrs. Anabel nsferted before the Mayor that Chailey frequently administered t-Iy pals on her sunny head with a bed slat, a bung driver or any other little toy which might be at hand. She usually ritaliats with her claws, as she modestly admitted, and no one doubted her word when the bruised and battered Charley was brought bifore the throne. Charley looked as though he had In en in the prize ring with pile dtiver. If his appearance is an evidence of Mrs. Anabel's usual handiwork she does not need the protection of the law.

A Decided Penchant for Meat, ~-::i It appears that J. F. Booe, arrested for stealing meat at the farm of F. M. Dice, is an old hand at the business. J. L. Cooper and Pleasant Williams, of Hillsboro, wore in the city lust evening on the lookout for meat, which had bon stolon from them on Sunday night. Mrs. Booe admitted that her newly made husband arrived home from Hillsboro on the night in question with meat answering the description of that stolen. He also brought most from Hillsboro about two weeks ago on the night when the smoke house of Mr. Wilson, of that place, was robbed. Messrs. Cooper and Wlliams found some of their lost pork in the house of Mrs. Lyda Hampton, to whom Booe had sold it at a ridiculously low price. Booe appears to have been an old hand at the business and his oipture by tho police was quite a little strike.
