AN OLD 0RAWr6llPi VILLE BOY.
His..Success Gains lliuj a Pleasaut Preemuieuce at Michigan Ojty. The following from the Michigan City Xcti'n concerns tbo doings of Willie George, a iu»udom resident of Grnwfordtivillo who will be remembered by many with pleasure and affection:
All of us know Mr. Bill George. lie WIIB named after King George III. and he ie a Crawfordsville product. Ho was transported from that place to Michigan City at the expense of the State and he rendered valuable services for the State while wwriug loud clothes at the northern prison. After completing his con"Iract Bill got married and ever since that time ho has made semi-occasional appearances before the bar of justico for heating his wife and demolishing the household furniture. Monthly he went out and tilled up on budge. While in this siate he deemed it his duty to call on his wife. The gay William at once proceeded to smash the furniture, at the same time administering a few smashes to his wife. He amused himself in this manner until he grew tired, when ho quietly look his departure. Mrs. George beowiio uneasy lest he might return at the dead of night and annihilate her completely. She therefore invoked lie aid of the law and about 8 o'clock p. in. William liiight'havo been seen meandering iu the direction of the jail supported either side bv an officer of the law. This morning William was conducted into the sacred presence of Esquire Dibble, who was in readiness to put the thumb screws to the festive xVilliam. Mrs. George was also there, Kccoivpanied by a lip that appeared very much disfigured. William pleaded pnilty to breaking the furniture and (here was plenty of evidence that he had assaulted his wife. In view of these facts Judge Dibble scowled and informed Mr. George that he would be required to pay the sum of §'25 and tho costs*of the case or go to jiiil for thirty-two days i'.il! look his medicine pleasantly and is now boarding at the expense of the county. wn.r.iAM KS.'Ai'u'i.
William, Willum, where art thou? Whither liath thou cone, and why didst thou run away Since the aforegoing article was written, the gay and giddy William lias escaped from the city jail Oliieer Gasper locked Bill up after hit trial and when he returned to the jail found that his bird had ilown. Gorge had been left in the run-around and with the aid of a stove shaker soon succeeded in unscrewing the nuts from the bolts that fasten the hinges of the jail door. This accomplished, he hud nn easy escape. Some men in the wood market saw George as he climbed over the high fence surrounding the jail. When last seen he was sliil headed touth, travelling at a "Nancy Hanks" gait, and unless he stopped somewhere on the road, is probably at Crawfords ville by this time. Should he over return to this city he will 'find a warm and hospitable set of police officers ready to receive hiui with open arms and he will lie put- where the Hogs won't bite hiin if Nick Gasper has to take him down and sit on him.

RECOLLECTIONS.
What, a blessed thing is memory Mow it brings up the pleasures of the past, and hides its unpleasantness! Vou recall your childhood days, do yon not, and wish they would r.'turn? Yt.u remember the pleasant associations, while tho unpleasant ones are forgotten. Perhaps to your mind comes the 'ace of some friend. .11, was once a pale, sad face. It showed marks of pain, hues of ore. Il seemed to bo looking into the hereafter, the unknown future. And ion you recalled how it brightened how it recovered its rosy hue, bow it be came a picture of happiness and joy Do you remember these things'' Many people do, and gladly tell how the health returned, how happiness came back, how the world seemed bright They fell how they were once weak nerveless, perhaps in pain, certainly nn happy. They tell of sleepless night restless days, untouched food, unstrung nerves. And then they tell how they became happy, healthy and strong once mojo You have heard it often in the pa-t, lane you not? You have heaid people describe how tliey were cured and kept in health? Yon certainly can romembcr what it-is that, basso helptd people in America. If not, listen to what Mrs. Annie Jenness filler, who is known universally as the great dress re former, says: "Six years ago, when suffering from mental care and over work, I received tho most pronounced benefit from the use of that great, medi ne, Warner's Safe Cure." Ah, now you remember. Now you recall how many people you have hoard sny this same thing. Now you recollect how much you have heard ot this great cure,
Now you are ready to admit that mem ory is usually pleasing, that the highest pleasure comes from perfect health, and that this great remedy has done more to produce and prolong health than any .ither discovery ever known in tho entire history of tho whole world.
