After an address by Mr. Switzer the hall was dedicated. In the evening the visiting members, representing sixteen dilTerent lodges, were entertained liv the third degree being oonferred 011 three candidates. Ons point of interest was that the third candidate was 110 less a person than Mr. W. P. Finney, of Dan.i, a student of Purdue University and a member of the foot ball team. 1-Ie was a splendid subject, and the lodge feele highly complimented in having this young man as one of its members.

IEEE AND EASY,
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Marsh Again Unite Their Shattered Hearts and Fortunes. The elopement of Elmer Marsh and Misa Oilie Mills is still fresh in miud and the iifl'uir is again being discussed thoroughly on account of the unlooked for and rather remarkoble reunion of Mr. and Mrs. Marsh. After the elopement Mrs. Marsh look rooms on north ireen street, furnished them elegantly and proceeded to lead a life af love lorn loneliness. She still loved tho erring Elmer, however, and a lire size crayon sketch of the frivolous young man hung in her parlor. Several dayB ugo ht Btniles brightened perceptibly and to a few confidential friends she stated that she had received a letter from her wandering husband full of love and repentance. J11 this remarkable epistle he made no mention of Miss Mills but declared to his wife thut he still loved her with the fervor of his youth and that life without her swtet companionship would be a barren wnste. The tender sentiments of the epistle were backed up bv a ten dollar bill and a request that Sirs. Marsh hasten at onc to him 111 St. Louis, where a glorious and never ending reunion would occur. Mrs. Marsh fairly hopped with joy and night before last accompanied by an extremely gallant and polite young man she went to the Ynndalia Btation. where bidding tier escort a lender farewell, she started for St. Louis. Lasl night she, Elmer and Ollie Mills all came back to Crawfordsville as happv as a cage of monkeys. Elmer and wife are now at homo 10 their friends in Mrs. Marsh's suite of rooms and Miss Mills is at home v,°ilh h"r mother near the plum street station. This morning Mrs. Marsh, whose joy is oi the exuberant kind, related her experiences to a friend. She arrived in St. Louis aB sound as a dollar and was met at tho station by Elmer who fell 011 her neck and wept. After the usual preliminary greetings and caresses he asked her to go home with him. She did so and was surprised on arriving at his roomB to liild Miss Ollie Mills fast asleep. The ipiarters were not al all clean but ashes and dirt prevailed to an alarming extent. Mrs. Marsh states that she at once told Elmer that he didn't find things so while she kept house for him and during tho interview Miss Ollie awoke and while greatly surprised was glad to see her. TI.e whole party came home last night and the
Marshes will leave this place as soon as possible. While away Mareh worked at all sorts of things in Chicago. The sooner Marsh leaves Crawfordsville the the better. A year ago he was a young man with good reputation and fane prospects. He hud a good business opening and all seemed bright but his bad break has eternally blasted his name here.
Oon's Bad Break.
Recently Gertie Golden, a prepossessing young woman who had been living a life of shams in a Terro Ilaute bagnio, left that city with some of the wearing apparel of Ihe proprietress in her possession. She went to Frankfort, and from that city came here, finding a place in Maud Morehouse's bagnio on Second street. She changed her name and fancied that she was safe fr:m the law. Con Meagher, chief of tho Terre Haute police, arrived here last evening at 7:15 o'clock, however, and accompanied by Lieutenant Haas, started out to find Gerlie, for whose arrest he carried a warrant. The Morehouse place was visited but Gertie hud gone to the opera house. When she returned after the show she was placed under arreat. Tho value of the goods taken is not greot and Gertie promised that if Mr. Meagher would accompany her to Crawfordsville she would adjust the matter. They leTt. for the lloosier Athens last night nt ]2:3" o'clock.--l.iifain'llc .lournul.
The matter was evidently adjusted here to Con's satisfaction. Tliev were driven directly from the station to one of the hotels where they registered as "P. C. Pnreell and wife'of Chicago, III." They passed the night together and left thiB morning for Terre Haute. That city would do well to lire the festive Con without delay. The woman was formerly in a resort here and was known as "Goldie." She was jailed here less than a year ago and taken out by a woman from Torre Haute who paid her fine.
Death of Ira 0. Sum
Irn C. Suman, familiarly known as "Billy" Suman, died last night after a painful illness of long duration. The funeral will occur to-morrow afternoon at 2 o'clock conducted by Dr. J. W. Greene. Interment at the Odd Fellows cemetery. Tho services will be under the direction of tho Odd Fellows fraternity. Ira Clark Suman was born 53 years ago in the house in which his death occurred on east Pike street. Ho was married to Kuth Dowdon, who died some time since leaving one daughter, Rosa, now oged 10 years. Mr. Suman was
11
man who acquired many friends and he dies lamented by a large circle.

An honest Swede tells his story in plain but unmistakable language for the benefit of the public. One of my children took a severe cold and gotthecroup. Then she went to sleep and slept good for fifteen minutes. Then she got up and vomited then she went back to bed and slept good tor the remuinder of the night. She got tbe
