Tliev are very fine and give a splendid enterU.inaient. I heard them every day for two weeks at Rome City, and all their work was good. They are artists and good Christian ladies, and hare met with wonderful success, all of which they deserve. The soloists are excellent. Miss Gertrude's singing iB wonderful and the "SwiBs Echo Song" as sung by her is grand. Miss Margaret as a reader is charming and her child dialect is the best I have ever heard. Do not fail to hear them

,The Dolierty Oase.

On next Monday the suit of Hurley A- Clodfelter against Sarah O. Dohertv and others for S'21,000 attorney's fees will come up at Rockville and will lie tried. The case promises to be hotly contested and sensational and all hands are going down prepared for excitement

£llti Makes a Hit.

On Tuesday evening at ,tlie Locust street church Miss Ella Joslin surprised her friends by the pleasing and finished way in which she played the violin obligato iu Brago's Serenade. Miss Joslin laid the foundation of hor musioal education in this city several years ago, and during her absence studied at Oberlin, Ohio. She gets a full, strong, pure tone and there is a desire to hear her in solo work.—Greenrastle Banner and Time*.

Here Tuesday Evening.

The six Smith Sisters who appeared at Sixby's Opera House last Wednesday evening, gave one of the finest musical entertainments that ever came to BluiTton. Each number on the programme was hailed with delight and encored frequenlyt. Miss Gertrude possesses a soprano Toice of unusual excellence and sweetness, and her rendering of "The Swiss Echo Song" was simply immense. Six sisters possessing such musical talent as these is marvellous, and is seldom found.—IilnffIon Bugle.

Good Old Zeb.

"Zeb, the Clodhopper" hopped at Music Hall last night. He was well named. For people who like that kind of a show it was all right. Zeb

Dr. Haines at the Game.

Alter leaving the street car for the grounds, Dr. M. H. Haines was seen in the crowd. It was then a few minutes past time for calling the game, and the shouts from the pavilion told that the game had already begun. Dr. Haines walked a little faster. Two newspaper sprints wore at his heels and tried to keep up with him. Another shout from the amphitheater was more than the reverend gentleman could stand. He broke into a dead run and went with a center rush, distancing everybody. This simply goes to show that the relish for foot ball excitement is as wholesome to the divines as "turkey and BturtinV^r-* lnlia)utiolis Journal.

A Pleasant Affair.

Mrs. Lyda Ramsay handsomely entertained a party of lady friends yesterday afternoon at a card party. The affair was a most enjoyable one and during the course of events delicious refreshments were served. Handsome prizes were awarded and the time was passed most pleasantly. Those present were Mesdnmes J. R. Bonnell, Charles Goltra, W. W. Goltra, A. B. Anderson. J. B. Pence, Dr. Ensminger, W. T. Gott. Geo. Hughes, D. H. Jackson, M. C. Kline, A. S. Miller, B. R. Russell, Henry Campbell, S. C. Campbell, I. N. Vansickle, George Graham, Henry Sloan, W. K. Wallace, Harvey Tins ley, D. W. Rountree, H. H. Talbot, Newton, C. L. 1'oet, Miss Resgen of Colnmbus, Miss Amanda Kellv.

The Manola-Mason company which appears at, Music Hall Monday evening is at Indianapolis this week and is making a hit. The Journal says:

In these days of the prevalence of sensationalism and horse-play on tlin stage it is a pleasure to commend the work, on legitimate lines, of such an organization as the Manola Mason company, which began an engagement at the Grand yesterday. It i* noi a large company, but is composed ot ladies and gentlemen who are both experienced and capable, and they gave two short playa that were full of originality and entertainment. "The Army Surgeon" is a clever little skit. It Was followed by "If I Were Yon," a comedy sketch in three acts, which takes its name fron. a song Miss Manola sings in it. It in brightly written, its action is brisk and spirited, ami the music selections In it, which were written especially for Mr. and Mrs. Mason, by Julian Edwards, are tuneful and pretty. Miss Manilla, who has previously been known hern only in opera, shows unexpected strength and intelligence in her dramatic work. Indeed no more evi-nlv balanced company has been seen hero this season. There were two very large audiences yesterday, and thoroughly well-pleased ones at that.

A WORD TO HUSBANDS. Wo hear much of the duty of wives to always greet their husbands with a smile when coming home tired from their work. There is another side to the picture. If husbands would only realize the thousand annoyanceB incident to housekeeping they would feel it just as much a duty to do all they can to make life pleasant for the hardworking wives. Many a wife is a sufferer with dyspepsia, constipation and sick or nervous headache. In auch case go to the druggists Moffet fc Morgan and get a fifty cent bottle ofLos Angeles Raisin Cured Prune Laxative which is a sure, safe and pleasant cure.

A Grand Success

The firemen's ball Thursday nignt was a grand success in all respects and the firemen wish to return their sincere thanks to the citizens one and all whether they bought tickets or not, for their liberal support towards making it such, and we wish to extend special thanks to the Order of the Moose for the great favor that was shown us by them in holding their meeting on Wednesday night instead of Thursday night. Lt is a young order and a good one and deserves encouragement. We wish also to say that if any feel slighted by the boys not calling on them to sell a tick et that it was an oversight and that we will try to get them next year.
