of Leslie Davis in

this city will regret to learn that his dramatic company has strauded in Dallas, Texas, on account of poor business "Buff" Cumuiins and wife have arrived in the city and are stopping at the /Etna House. He savs that himself and wife and nine other members of the company left the company in Texas because salaries were not forthcoming and that they were almost poverty stricken. He says that Davis will try and reorganize and open up for business in a few days. Mr. Davis has made a long and diversified struggle to make big money in the show business and it was hoped he would "strike it rich" sometime. He has plenty of pluck and we are almost certain he will not abandon the show business.—Danville (III.) Ctmimercial.

THE WATER S0ARE.

An Analyse Made of the Nectar of a Town Puuip, The Water and Light Company which Bent out a few days ago a statement of the analysis made of its water by chemists Hurty and Xoyes, now sends oat another statement of which the following is an extract, and a letter from Prof. Noyee:

While Prof. Moves was making this analysis, we desired him to procure a specimen of water from some well which was much used in your city, in order that we might be able to see whether the water supplied by us was as good or better than that procured from the wells. The following is his report in reference to the analysis of water taken from the well in front of Lacy's book Btore. You will see that the water furnished from the hydrants of which he says: "The water delivered at the hydrants in the city is, as regards organic purity, superior to the water supply of almost any of our large cities," is altogether a superior article to that procured from the well, whioh we take it, is a fair sample of the well water of yourcity. You will bear in mind that the analysis of the water delivered at the hydrants, was taken at the worst possible season of the year, when the general water supply was exceedingly low, and consequently if it was in any respect defective, it would have shown it at that time:

TERKE HAUTE, Ind., Oct. 15, 1892.— CHAS. F. COFFIN, DEAK SIH—The following analysis of water taken by me from the well in front of Lacy's "book store in Crawfordsville, is of interest.

A WORD TO HUSBANDS. We hear much of the duty of wives to always greet their husbands with a smile when coming home tired from ',heir work. There is another side to the picture. If husbands would only realize the thousand annoyances incident to housekeeping they would feel it just as muoh a duty to do all they can to make life pleasant for the hardworking wives. Many a wife is a sufferer with dyspepsia, constipation and sick or nervous head4che. In such case go to the druggists Moffet fc Morgan and get a fifty cent bottle of LOB Angeles Raisin Cured Prune Laxative which is a sure, Bafe and pleasant cure.

The widow promised to act kindly with the old housekeeper, but she, too, died without malting provision, and the suit for service recompense was begun and bitterly fought.
