I TAMMAXY carried ont its contract to carry New York for Cleveland. Now Cleveland will have to fulfill his contract to give all the Federal offices in New York to Tammany.

FOK the first time "since the surren dah, sah,'' the Democratic party lias control of the House, the Senate and the presidency. The people can now be nble to judge of the part}'a administrative ability and to .hold it to strict account for any shorten tiring.

NE\V YORK never declares for the same party two Presidential years in succession. The Republicans carried it in 1804, the Democrats in 1868, the Republicans in 1872, the Democrats in 1S7C, the Republicans in 1880, the Democrats in 1884, the Republicans in 1888 and the Democrats in 1892. It will be the Republicans' turn again in 189G. V.-*

THE JOURNAL was the only paper in the city yesterday that attempted to give figures on the county and it gave a tabulated return on all the offices from the whole county with the exception of two precincts. The figures were correct too, and had been furnished by the election clerks. THE .JOURNAL .had more returns than had the officers of either of tho central committees and considering the closeness of the contest figured the thing out about right. The result in the two precincts not obtained were known by nobody as the inspectors for some cause refused to give them out until the canvassing board met to-day. It took work to get tho figures but Tnr. "JOURNAL got them.

THE Republicans of Montgomery county are to be congratulated on the work they did. This election proved the greatest landslide in the history of the county but notwithstanding that fact the Republicans made a gain of over 200 in old Montgomery. This was done too in the face of t.he wildest ano most desperate work of the opposition, who in a few of the out townships hesitated at nothing. The Democracy made the bittorest, most determined fight they ever made in the history of tho county and the result is a matter of congratulation for the Republicans. It shows that under ordinary circtyn stances old Montgomery iB solidly Republican.

THE Sentinel of this morning lishes the following dispatch: Roth the merchants and the "unemployed workmen of England have reason to rejoice at the Democratic victory, as with it comes the possibility of the reopening of the American markets to the goods ot Birmingham, Bradford and Manchester. Capitalists will get a chance to procure some return on their money invested, and the working man will have an opportunity to get a decent price for their labor without the necessity of striking.—Lotuhm Pall Mall Gazette.

So it seems that the McKinlej policy is to be throttled for the benefit of British capitalists and British workingmen. The industrial prosperity of England and the industrial prosperity of the Un.ted States are on the two endp of a see-saw. and when the one goes up the other goes down, as surely as two boys go up and down alternately on a board balanced across the fence.

While it is over thirty years since ALLCOCK'S l'onors PLASTERS were first introduced to the medical profees on and public, the marked success and unprecedented popularity which they met with not only continues, but steadily increases No other plasters have been produced which gain so many testimonials of higix value as those continuously accorded to -ALLCOCKS POROUS PLASTERS, nnd the only motive for these exceptional tributes lies in the fact of their being a medicinal and pharmaceutical preparation of supperior value.
