Enthusiasm at Ladoga.
Patrick O'Donnell, the great Irish Republican orator, turned thingd inside out at Ladoga last night and it was the greatest polioal meeting ever held there. The opera house was packed and scores of seekers after truth had to bo turned away. Mr. O'Donnell's speech was a ringer and was applauded to the echo by the enthusiastic hundreds who heiird him. The North Salem band was present, as was a martial band from the township and the drum corps of Wabash College. The members of the drum corps were attired in their new gray mackintoshes faced with scarlet and also their new caps presenting a splendid appearance. The rally was a splendid success in every particular and shows that Republicanism in south- Montgom ery is on the move.

Prof. Beery's Exhibition.
A large audience assembled on west Main street lust evening and witnessed a two hours fight with a vicious and senseless mustang which fought from Btarc. to finish. A little impression, however, was made oven on this beast. To-night Prof. Beery will exhibit his educated horse and will givo an exhibition with a bnlker, a halter puller and an untrained colt. "7,
Hon. M. U. White at Shannondale. Hon. M. D. White hod a rousing meeting at Shannondole last night. The house was filled to overflowing with both Democrats and Republicans who listened attentively to what the speaker had to say. Some Democrat previous to the meeting had written on the blackboard "The Tariff is a Tax," which proved a most excellent text for Mr. White, who in a most convincing argument showed his listeners that the "tariff is not a tax." To all except those who would not be convinced by unanswerable argument his speech was a clincher and will do much good.
An Important Move.
The Horse Thief Detective Companies of Montgomery county, met this morning at the court house pursuant to a call issued in September, for the purpose of organizing a county organization. The preliminary steps were taken and a committee on by-laws appointed which will report at the next meeting on the second Tuesday in Jonuary. The meeting was well attended, twenty associations being represented. The object of this new organization is to further facilitote the capture of low breakers by cooperation. The total number of associations in the county is 28 with a membership of 825. These 825 constitute one seventh of the membership of the National Association which in eludes Ohio, Illinois and Indiana.

DEM00BATI0 BULLDOZING.
FrovoB to be a Boomerang In One Omb at Least—V/ hat Occurred at Mew Market. Democrats are making a sensational Itowl of an alleged case of Republican bulldozing at New Market. The ploin facts as given below show that the bulldozing was all done by Democrats.
Charley Eshelman, a Republican, was renting i^farm near New Market but wanted to move to Iowa. He therefore made a proposition to his brother-in law, Jesse Coons, a Democrat, to take the place and move on it immediately. By the change both would lose their votes but neither party would gain any advantage. Mr. Coons, moreover was anxious to more so that he could take care of his live stock better. The arrangements had all been completed between the two men amicably and Mr. Eshelman had bought his ticket for the west when the Democrats learned of the affair. They immediately began to urge Mr. Cooous to break hiB contract with Mr. Eshelman and not move until after the olection.
But Mr. Coons iB a man of his word. He insisted on moving, first •because he had promised his brother-in-law that he would and, second, because the condition of his cows made it necessary that he take them where they could get more water. Finding that persuasion was of no use the Democrats resorted to bulldozing. Frank Brown and Daniel Vnncleave, two" uncles of Coons and Demacrats of the rock ribbed sort, are on note of his as security. They threatened to withdraw their names from the note if ha moved. A Democratic storekeeper went so far as to let Mr. Coons know indi.ectly thas we would not give him credit if he moved. The Democrats moved heaven and earth to induce him not to move but Mr. Coons stuck to his agreement and moved. Moreover he has doclared hiB intention of voting the Republican ticket hereafter. Naturally the Republicans -ire somewhat rejoiced.
AT YANDES LIBRARY HALL
Dr. Burroughs and Ladies are Introduced to Hundreds of Their Well Wishers. The reception at Yandes Library Hall last evoning was a moBt flattering indi cation that Dr. Burroughs is going to prove aB popular with the citizens of Crawfordsville as with the students. Extensive! preparations had been made in the way of decorotions, potted plants and the riohly colored autumn leaves being used with charming effect in all parts of the building. Every room was lighted up so that from the outside the building presented a most beautiful appearance. At 8 o'clock the Crawfords ville orchestra began playing and verj shortly afterward the guests began to arrive. Dr. Burroughs, Mrs. Burroughs and Miss Plumley were stationed in the northwest corner of the art room. Prof. Campbell acted as master of ceremonies and introduced eaoh guest to Dr. Burroughs. He introduced each one to his wi'e and she in turn to her sister, Miss Plumley. It was a great pleasure to meet them as hundreds will testify and this occasion we are sure is but the beginning of yeors of most pleasant relotions. Bes'des Dr. Burroughs and the ladies several members of the faculty and their wives assisted in doing the honors ot the evening. The press of guests while great was really a pleasant feature of the evening as it attested the spirit of good will and friendship with which our citzens greet the new Wnbash College.

Our Water Supply.
In reply to the slanderous article in the Argus News of the 14th I have received Prof. Hnty's report on the samples of water taken from the various sources of supply. This report con be seen by our potronB by calling ot the office of the Water Light Co.
W. A. Hohner, Mgr.
Mr. Horner has shown The .Touiinal a letter from Dr. Hurty enclosing his analysis of the woter furnished by the Water Works. Dr. Hurty closes his letter with this sentence: "The conclusion ib clear that the 'waters analysed are all potable. The supply, so far as this stndy goes, is as good as can be found this immediate region." In his analysis after giving the component ports of the reservoir he gives his opinion as follows: "This is an unobjectionable water, it is safe to soy that it is good and wholesome." Of the fair ground spring he soys: "This is pure and excellent water." He uses the some language in regard to the Jones spring and the dam. Of the driven well east side he says: This analysis shows but one point against the water, and that is the large amount of free ammonia. All the other points are in its favor.
I regard this water as potable
and it is wholesome." Of the driven well west side he supplies the Bame language that he applies to the well on the east side.

The Davis Estate.
It is being told to the detriment of Charles E. Davis, candidate for Sheriff, that he received a largo sum of money from his father's estate which he squandered in dissipation. There is not a word of truth in this as the record will show. We have examined the Hottloment report, as made by P. S. Kennedy, the administrator, and it
