BKOOKHHIHF. would have our farmers who raise sheep compete with the sheep raisers of Australia, where the rent for land is 8-1.87 per year for 83,000 seres, The average cost per sheep a year to breeders is about GO cents. Wool can be raised for 10 cents at profit. Our farmers want no Australian wool prices.

To tli Editor The Journal. 1. What is the difference'in the price of American worsted goods now compared with the price two years ago 2. Can a man go to England Bnd purchase 8500 worth of clothing Bnd bring the same to the, pnited States free of duty? M.

As to the exact figures in the price of worsted goods they are not at hand, thongh the price is lower. The average price of all brands of wool declined 21 per cent, from Jan. 4. 1890, to July 2, 1S92, in London, according to the London Economist of those dates. Between the same dates the average price of all brands of wool qnoted in the Boston market fell 7?, per coot., according to the Boston Commercial linllctin. It may be safely stated that worsteds, therefore, are lower than they were two years ago.

In answer to the second question, no. lie must pay a duty of 50 per cent.

Oct. 1'nder the direction of tiieir state committees the republicans, and democrats will carrv on schools of instruction iu every voting precinct of the state. Within the next week .several tons of ballots will be sent out. While eaeh committee has prepared its own sample ballot the ballots and instructions thereon are the same. Neither party furnishes information as to hotv to vote a mixed ticket. The committees fear that there will be a pood deal of confusion in voting under the new law, as it is the first presidential election since it was enacted. This year there will be two ballot boxes and two ballots to be voted. One box.painted red. will be for the state ballots, which will be on red paper, and the other box. painted white, will be for the local ballots. The law requires that the ballots be folded separately, The state tickets, containing- the names of the presidential electors also, is over 2 feet in length. Little scratchingis expected.
