A Tormer Resident of This City Dies From the Effect of Taking Arsnic. Mrs. Lizzie Burdoll, ilnughter of Nioholiie ScLnnedorf, living north of tbo city, took arsenic Inst Friday and died Wednesday afternoon in the city hospital at Indianapolis. Her husband is a clerk in the When clothing store, and they have been mnrried about months. They had been separated twice, and he had applied for a divorce. It is claimed that ho was jealous of a former lover of his wife, and this was the cause of the trouble. About the 12th of last month Mrs. Burdell come here to visit her father, and Mr. Burdell enme with her, but returned immediately. He went to the house and packing up all of their furniture, took away, leaving a lot of his wife's fancy work thrown about over the lloor. Burdell then wroto his wife short letter to come homo, saying ho had a surprise for her. When she came to the house she found all their household effects remoyed and was thrown into a lit of despair. The woman then went to the house of Mrs. iJietch, on Arsenal avenue, where she took the arsenic. Mrs. Oreenstiner, a sister of the deceased, who lives at Indianapolis, said Mr. Itnrdell was not to blame, and that they had had a great deal of trouble ever since they were married. Mr. Greenstiner said that thero was not a nicer man in the city than Mr. Burdell, and that his wifo's tragedy was the rernill of her own work.
Here They Oome.
This year Sells Brothers' amusement holiday for everybody within a radiuB of fifty milos of Crawfordsville falls on Saturday, August 13, and the indications all point to such an inllux and mustering of our country cousins, their good wives, sturdy sons and rosy-cheek-ed daughters, as was never seen on such an oceasion before. For the glory and prolit of their twenty-first annual amusement campaign, the Messrs. Sells have clearly made herculean efforts to provide any amount of everything to please all tastes, while carefully excluding everything in the shape of debauching and prurient so-called "spectacles," and aught calculated to injure the morals of the young or offend a parent's senso of propriety and refinement. The Big Show of „he World will be presented here in more than the magnitude and perfection which, during the past winter months so entirely captivated Australia and won the unqualified admiration of its press and people, for while abroad most notable additions were made to its attraction, by the puiohase in Australasia, the East Indies and elsewhere of many exceedingly rare and royal beii6ts, birds and reptiles. The Messrs. Sells wish it distinctly and finally understood that their great show, is not divided, never was and never will be, but is always and everywhere fully fairly and squarely presented.
The New Soldiers' Home.
