THE GLASS DAY_EXER0ISES.
The High School Seniors Present the Public With a Lively Entertainment. Musio llall •.fas packed last evening with a large and select audience that was out to see the fun. The Seniors of the city high school had been preparing fur several weeks for the class day exhibition and nftfcr all the mysterious hints and caucuses people wanted to see what it all amounted to. The Senior class of Wabash College occupied the front rows as it was generally given out that they would be roasted unmercifully. The Music Hall orchestra had refused to play for the occasion because it had not beon employed for the dances is it claimed had been agreed when it furnished umeic for tlio benefit- concert. Mr. Schweitzer refused to bring in his college orchestra, so the ladies were bliged to employ a pianist. The programme was too long and too disconnected to be dwelt upon in particular, but some of tho ehief points are certainly worthy of mention. One of the best hits of the evening was the performance
Miss Campbell, who admirably took off the recital of the chariot' race from
ftJ)en
Ilur'' as given bv Mr. O. I). Hum] hrey. The take off on l'rof. Weiington which followed, however, failed to manifest an amusing side and the curtain fell on a silent audience. The hit. at the seven engaged Seniors in which a young lady read their several letters of proposal was very clever and elicited liberal applause as, indeed, did the take off on tlie College Glee Club which was will executed. The scenes in and about the campus were good although one or two were catlier "raw to say the least. The last act which was aimed at the coming class day exorcises of the Senior class of the college was really bftter than the audienco gave credit for. Jt appears that one of the young ladies had effected an entrance to the hall during the rehearsals of the college men and gotten the substance of their proposed performance which was accordingly hashed up last night, and as the college men snv in very good
Htyle. One thing in this part of the performance, however, was perhaps trille too lively for the fastidious. Tin first scene represented the college ieniors as escorting about colored girls it a cake walk. Some underclassmen in league with the ladies had purloined a number of tho Seniors mortar boards and gowns and several of the ladies dressed in
Uh'm*
while others, represent
ing the colored girls, wore black masks After the walk the prize was awarded to Kit" Osborn, "!t2, and the dusky dam sel who hung so coyly on his arm. The immense cake which stood on a table in tho center of the stage, was then cut and the young ladies seizing the pieces advanced to the footlights anil legun to pelt the Seniors. An uproar followed lit once and the Seniors raising tliei umbrellas warded off the flying hunks of cake and retaliated by hnrling at the ladies handsful of shelled corn and rad ishes which tlwv hail brought to be used in such an emergency. This good humored but rather novel battle was continued for some time while the ga lory gods howled with joy. It was real ly quite exhilarating and the commence ment visitors must surely have thought we merited tho name of tho IIooBier Athens. Corn and cake filled the air and an occasional big chunk Hew far out into the audience causing terror nnd dismay. Altogether this part of tlje performance was perhaps a little racy, The jierformance while excellent many particulars was not above criti cism and, perhaps, in future the classes giving those exhibitions-had better tout them down a lit'le.

Jnurnul: "W. J. Harness, an insane man, confined at Dr. Brown's sanitarium, escaped from that institution yesterday morning, and created a small panic by running bareheaded down Pennsylvania street, with a piece of scantling about eighteen inches long in his hand, with which ho was lxmting his forehead. Several citizons endeavored to capture him at tho posu.dice corner, but he eluded them, and ran on down Pennsylvania street to the corner of Washington. At this point lie attempted to throw himself under the wheels of a Virginia-avenue car, but tho driver stopped the car just in time to prevent the wheels from running over him. Bystanders overpowered him and and took him to tho station-house,where he was cared for until tho institution could lw notified of his capture. Later in tho day I10 was taken in charge by Dr. Fletcher, and taken to his sanitarium on north Alabama street."

POOE WILL HARNESS.
The Famous Ball flayer of Wabash Ool lege In an Awful Condition, Everybody hore will remember Will Harness, who three years ago led the ball team of Wabash College to so many victories and no defeats. He was a phenomenal player and as a pitcher he was invincible among the college clubs. He taught school for r. year or so after leaving college, but last fall ho went to Anna Arbor, Mich. He was dissatisfied there, and had written friends here that he would return to Wabash next fall to take the course in English. While at Ann Arbof ho had become attached to the college base ball club which has achieved considerable renown this season in tho east. While playing a game in I'hiladelphia he was struck on tho head by a ball and quite painfully hurt, mention of which was made in The Jochnai, at the time. He began soon to exhibit strange mental disorder and shortly thereafter became completely overbalanced mentally. Ho was removed for treatment to a private sanitarium at Indianapolis, and on Sunday created a mild sensation at that place in a manner tints described by the Indianapolis
Mr. Chuckey Tell and Miss Lottio Gordon are now as safely and snugly married as any one could wish for but Sam Coombs refuses to surrender some of the furniture which Mrs. Fell claims belonged to her mother, the late Mrs. Charley Coombs. Sam claims that his brother, Charley, wrote from the penitentiary giving hitu all his tools and furniture and by this authority he is holding fast that which he has. A merry war is on and Prosecutor Moffett has taken a hand. The whole north end is agog with excitement and entertaining developements are promised.
Another refreshing shower rejoiced the parched earth this morning. —Uncle Tom and little Eva are iiore and will hold forth at Musio Hall this evening. —The council will hold a postponed meeting this evening for the transaction of urgent business. —The regular weekly meeting night of Friendship Lodge, No. 199, O. The readers of this paper will lie pleased to learn that there is one dread ed disease that science has been able to cure in all its stages and that is Catarrh. Hall's Catarrh Cure is the only positive cure now known to the medical' fraternity. Catarrh being a constitutional disease, requires constitutional treatment. Hall's Catarrh Cure is taken internally, acting directly on the blood and mucous surfaces of the system, thereby destroying the foundation of the disease, and giving the patient strength by building up the constitution and assisting nature in doing its work. The proprietors have so much faith in its curative power that they offer One Hundred Dollars for, any case that it fails to cure. Send for list pf Testimonials.
