A FEAST OF HOMAN FLESH.

A House Doc Eats the Face From an Iufant Child of John Britsoh. Hpoelal to The Journal.

NEW Ross, May 5.—An awful fate overlook the infant son of John Britscb, who resides two miles south-east of this place. Tl.o child, who iB only two years old, was playing in the door yard. Suddenly tlio large liouso dog sprang upon it and threw it to the ground. Then it fastened its cruel fangs in the soft Hesh of the baby's cheek and toaring it ofT, began to devour it greedily, the warm blood dripping from its jaws., Mrc* Britsch hearing the noise at first thought the dogs were lighting merely, but finally, arousod by the cries of her babe, she rushed out to find the cruel animal with its fore feet on the infant's breast and feeding fat upon its llesh. After (struggle the dog's meal was torn from him and carried to the house. All the flesh had been torn from the cheeks under the eyes and the bones wore left bare and shining. As soon as possible Dr. Bowers was summoned and gave the necessary medical attendance. The child sulfers untold agony but this morning was still alive, although with small hope of recovery. The dog was killed immediately but it was believed to bo mad., The child's father is a poor man and the entire community lends them aid in their sore alllictiou.
