The court house was lighted last night for the first time with natural gas. The burners were lighted in all of the rooms and a splendid effect was produced.- The lights are entirely successful and the county oflicials are much pleased wish the change.

Not Solid For Matthews.

'Walter Unlet, John L. Goben. Harris Reynolds, Will Johnston and several other Democrats w.nt to Indianapolis this morning to prepare for the State convention which holds forth there tomorrow. Although the Democratic county convention which met last Saturday declared for Claude Matthews for Governor, Claude will not receive the united support of Montgomery county even if he does hail from this congressional district. Mr. Matthews said in his sjieech Saturday that he thought he was entitled to this county's support in tue convention, hist (Jen. when

Real Disagreeable.

Mori. Iieeco made himself' real disagreeable yesterday and accordingly got himself into difiiculty. Mori would be a fine young man if it wasn't for his many bad habits and his vicious disposition. Yesterday he wandered into the quiet little parlor saloon of that accomplished and bewitching littlodear, Mrs. Becky Oatman, whose place is opposite the nimble courts of the Morion station. Mort should have boon decent enough to have behaved himself there of ail places but he deliberately went to work tipping over the chairs, throwing gravel at tho row of bottles on the shelf, and pouring some fluid extract of rain water into the open bung hole of the beer keg. Finally the audacious thing picked up a large flowing cus pidore from the floor and inverted it upon the head of Becky likcf a crown, calling her hiB May queen. The police arrived just here and relieved the dis tressed relic of royalty from her involutary crown. As for Mort ho was lodged in jail but released this morning on a promise to leave the town.

The Marriase of Dr. Lewis. The marriage of Dr. E. R. Lewis, late of this county, occurred in Indianapolis last night. The Journal gives the following account of it:

The marriage of Miss Rose Baldwin, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Baldwin, and Dr. Edward R. Lewis, occurred last evening at 6:30 o'clock at the family residence on north Pennsylvania street. The ceremony, which was performed by Rev. Joseph A. Milburn, of the Second Presbyterian church, was attended by the family and a few of the most intimate friends. As the party entered the parlors, an orchestra played the ''Weddiag'March." The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Helen

Baldwin. They stood before a mantel, which was completely screened with ferns and festoons of smilai and feathery asparagus, making a rich background of green. The bridal dress was of beautiful white Canton crepe, trimmed with point lace. She wore the groom's gift, elegant diamonds, and carried a bouquet of lilies of the valley. A flimy veil enveloped her entire figure. Miss Baldwin's dress was of white china silk, simply fashioned, and she carried bunch of roses. A wedding supper followed the ceremony and congratulations. The other spacious rooms were handsomely decorated with ferns, palms and Easter lilies, and vnses of choice blossoms filled every available space. At 8:30 a general reception was given for which nearly four hnndred invita tioR-s were issued, and there was a very large attendance of their immense circle of friends. Assisting at the reception were Judge and Mrs. James B. Black

Mrs. John Fishback. Mr. and Mrs Frank Baldwin, Mrs. Roberts and mem bers of the family. Among the guests from out of the city were: Mrs, Lewis, •f Madison, mother of Dr. Lewis Mr ind Mrs. Milford, or Crawfordsville. Di and Mrs. Lewis left last night for a tw weeks' trip, and upon their return will be at home at No. 2j7 north Delaware street. An she left she threw her bouquet which was caught by her sister. Margaret. The true love knot ring in the cake was secured bv Miss Bell Baldwin

There is more Catarrh in this section of the country than all other diseases put together, and until the last few years was supposed to be incurable. For a great many years doctors pronounced it a local disease, and prescribed local remedies, and by constantly failing to cure with local treatment, pronounced incurable. Science has proven catarrh to be a constitutional disease, and therefore requires a constitutional treatment. Hall's Catarrh Cure, manufactured by F. J. Cheney &.
