Tin-: policy of tbo •-Democratic party on the wool tan ft question means tin immediate annual transfer of over "oui hundred million dollars a vo ir of our money to foreign lands to pay for for eign cheap labor on manufactured woo! products and wool raised-by cheap labor on cheap lands in South America and Australia, taking alike amount away from our enterprising manufacturers, •well paid iuTujr and not: too prosperous farmers. The. excuse for this hideoaand criminal folly is the falsehood, demonst ratable in every clothing store in the land, that the tariff is a tax on--the necessary clothing of the people. Ther" are liiousimds of living witnesses in tinland to-day who will truly testify that the most enormous taxes on clothing were paid to foreign nianufactnrerf under free trade or tariifB for revenue -only. Protection has been steadily decreasing the price of the people's clothing during the last twenty-five years until now it has become almost as ,low as it is anywhere on earth.

John C.rissel secured a judgment against Noel Bros, for S1U5, which represented the value of his time as their employe that, he was obliged to work over eight hours a day. An appeal was taken, and the superior court Monday helil that lirissel accepted his wages every Saturday night as full payment for the week work and without protest and the case was reversed. Under the decision an employe must protest against working more than eight hours a day and must demand pay at the time of the settlement in order to recover.

His wounds, while serious, arc not thought to be fatal.
