The eurilintily on the part of the large audience was fully deserved, for he played with a spirit that in itself was sufficient to stamp him as a fine actor of the romantic" school. WAiiivjun is a hero
of the class that dares much and bceomlishes much that ibinks nothing of being shot through the body, or Laving three duels on hand in one afternoon. It is no easy task to represent such a personage on the stage iu a natural fashion, so that. Sulvini is. to be strongly commended for his success in thiB direction. Instead of swaggering about indulging in mock heroics, and generally oeing as improbable as possible—as less capable actors might do—he played with certain lightness and humor, and at the same time with a real force that proved liKSt enjoyable.—I'hihitlcljihia Praut.
A Blizzard To-Morrow,
Brother Hicks, the old unreliable weather prophet, has declared that on to-morrow there shall,be a blizzard the like of which has not not been seen for many moons, yea, for many great suns. From all the indications it really looks a.-i though brother Ilicks wore going to hit things right this time. The signal service predicts snow, etc., and yesterday afternoon appeared some atmospherical phenomena which invariably precede a falling mercury in winter. A most brilliant combination of tainbows, halos and "sun dogs" appeared in the western heavens yesterday afternoon shortly bt-fore sunset. A peculiar phenomenon which caused no little comment was the fact that the largest rain bow which spanned the heavens midway was inverted. Surely, this all seems to foretell blizzard but the grand cli mattic argument still remains. A canvass of all those ancient citizens whose declining years are spent upon the soap boxes ill the grocery stores or the chairs in county Offices, discloses the fact that each and every ono of them has been forewarned of an approaching storm by the premonitory aching of his corns. l'LK.lS.i.\T HILL.

WOMEN AT TRIALS.
WHY H'OJtE.Y FLOCK TO COlliT
Clear Definition of the Causes Which
Make Ho men nn Suneeptlble to Emotion.
The New York
Sun
has an able ed
itorial in which it seeks to show why some women love to attend sensational or murder trials. It eavs: "Women aro not stirred at all by many of the occurrences which agitate men, but when a CBee involving life and death comes up, a tragic)
CBSO,
"Sua Couldn't, Marry 'Three.'" The above title seemed to arouse the curiosity of the New York public, so much so that on the opening night the house was packed to the doors. The success of the play was instantaneous, and during the entire New York engage-1 fascination which a fictitious tragedy on meut the theatre was crowded. The
and more especially
when it has about it a mystery in which a woman is concerned, and a women of the more refined society, they follow its course with an intensity of interest greater than men feel. It is akin to the
has for women, and for women
good women to have their ten-
for them than the comedies which provoke merriment. They delight in having their feelings roused to the highest pitch."
This is all undoubtedly true, but there is a cause far-back of all this. It is a cause'which has its origin in the life aud condition of the women themselves. Most women aro weak and not in g'.od health. When a women is sickly her feelings ere quickly aroused and she suffers keenly. This is the real actual cause of it all. Women should not suffer. They are designed by nature for hlippineBs, not misery. And yet, too often, it is continual suffering, when there is a certain relief. Read the experience of a New York lady:
Mrs. J. F. Benle, residing at 3G3 Lex ington avenue says:" "But six years ago I suffered from a severe attack of peritonitis and general kidney troubles. DeBpite the attendance of skilled physicians ray ailments increased. I finally deoided to try Warner's Safe Cure and purchased a bottle. This step was taken upon the advice of several friends who have been benefited by its use. At this time the physicians stated that mother attack of my malady would most assuredly prove fatal. I took four hottles of tho Safe Cure, which entirely ured me. Whenever I feel as though any of the symptoms were returning, I take a doBe and immediately feel better. I now fell as well as in my girl hood—and it is entirely due to this remed."
Is this an isolated experience? By no moans. It is precisely what hundreds of other ladies have found true in their experience. It shows that women continue to suffer, if tl.e trials of life weigh them down when they should bo joyful, they have themselves only to blame. There is a means of relief or restoration. It is pure, it is safe, it is a woman's beet friend. By its use she can be enabled to withstand the ills of life and secure both health and haopiness.
