The friends of Miss Mary Hovev will be glad to know that sho is now convalescent, although it may be some time before she completely recovers from an illness that was at 0110 time very critical. Dr. Horace Hovey, her only brother, who came week ago in answer to a telegram, returned to-day to meet pressing engagements at lr'.home in Middletown, Conn. While here he visited the Ilovey Museum and other college buildings and noted tho many gratifying improvements that have been made in Die city where his boyhood was passed. They Meet Last Eveniug, Organiie and Set the Date for Primaries. The City Republican Central C0111niittoe, togtther with a number of the party workers, met lust eveniug in tho oflice of White, Humphrey & Reeves and porfectod a permanent organization with the following odicers: W. E. Humphrey, Chairman Frank Scott, Secretary George W. Markly, Treasurer. After considerable discussion it was decided to hold the primary elections 011 Saturday, March 2l', Jit which time a full city ticket will be placed in the field. The precincts will probably be for the First Ward at the Trustee's oliice, for the Second at the Surveyor's oflice, and for tho Third at Smith's wagon shop. Tho Australian system of voting will be used and the polls open from two in the afternoon until eight in the evening, thus enabling everyone to cast his votes for the candidates of his choice. The candidates are already announcing themselves and there promises to bo an unusual number of good men in the field.
Snyder-Galey.
Even tho expected is sometimes surprise and it was so this morning when it was announced that Frank L. Snyder and Miss Mabel Galey hiul been quietly married at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ii. V. Galey, in Englewood. The nllair was quite private, only the immediate family being present. The ceremony was performed at 8:30 o'clock by Rev. K. ]j. Thomson and immediately after it, the happy couple took tho south bound Vandalia train for St. Louis. They will visit Kansas City and other places before going to their future homo at Joplin. The bride has been one of Cravvfordsville's best known society young ladies aud has endeared herself to hundreds by those charming graces which have always rendered her so deservedly popular. She carries with lior to her new home the best wishes of all who knew her. Tho groom is an old resident of this city where he has hosts of acquaintances and friends. He is now engaged in lead mining at Joplin, Mo.. and the head of one of the most prosporous and wealthy companies. THK Jot'UNAL extends congratulations and host wishes.
A Good Citizen Gone.
Thomas E. Bowles, of Coal (.'reek township, will this week change his residence to Washington township, Hamilton county. In his removal Montgomery county loses one of its most wide awake and progressive farmers, while Hamilton will bo the gainer. TUB JontXAj, while it regrets his departure rejoices to know that his lines will be cast in pleasant places. He will be succeeded on the place in Coal Creek by Samuel Humphreys, of Vernal. Ills., who has bought the farm.
Death of Gen. Wilder'a Wife. Airs. Daniel Sfewart received a telegram yesterday announcing the death of Mre. John T. Wilder, which occurred Monday night at Johnson City, Tenn.
