A Urawlordsvtlle R. M, Turns Aotresi. Considerable Burprisu was expressed among her friends yesterday morning when it was learned that Miss Mollie Carow, a well known and pretty diningroom girl who has been an attache of the Murdock hotol had put into execution her long contemplated design of trying her fortune before the foot lights and bad cast her lot with that of the female minstrels of Duncan Clark's company which attracted a goodly portion of the bald headed element of Logansport society to tho opera house the night before. It is not stated just exactly what especial role Mollie will take, but as it is delicately intimated that the young lady can point her dainty toes heavenward with as much and as bewildering Jgrnco as that of the most accomplished high kicker that ever adorned the vaudeville stage it is- not unlikely that Bhe may contribute to the success of Mr. Clark's company by londing Hn element of interest to the very tame display which the bills announced as the appearance of the French high kickers, none of whom elevated their f-'Gt higher from the stage thun would co nfortublv carry them over the second bar of a pasturo fenco. Mollie has long had visions of triumph on the stage and it is trusted that her fond dreams will not be too cruelly blasted.—Loynnsporl Journal.

Mollie for the last two years up until November took orders at the Nutt and Robbing houses. She was short haired and popular and first became stage struck when Pro's. Flint and Orin Cook placed her under mesmeric intluo.ice and had her believe she was Mary Anderson. Mollie's friends will be rejoiced to learn that she now treads the histrionic boards with Bocth and .Toffor-

A KAOY A0000NT,

A Friend of T. A. Armstrong, of Mice, Tells of His Early Love ana Courtship. Some time since we gave an acoount of the matrimonial trip of T. A. Armstrong, the saw mill man of Mace, to Cooper, Mich. Mr. Armstrong was not exactly suited with the facts which were reported by the good citizens of his town, and accordingly a friend of his has written the following which is a true and highly spiced version of Mr. Armstrong's love affair. It is rich reading and a masterpiece as Mr. Armstrong, who heartily sanctions it, said when he tendered it to this office. Here it is: "ALBERT AND I.N.U."

Homo time during the holidays, there was quite a sensational report iu THE JOUHXAL and several dailies staling that T. A. Armstrong had gone to Cooper, Mich., for the purpose of wedding nn unknown widow, whom he had by the help of others, been corresponding for the past two years that he had learned her name and address through some matrimonial paper published in Chicago. Mr. Armstrong says that while it is true lie went to Michigan about that time, but not for the purpose stated in the reports in circulation, that tho lady in quostion was once a resident of Mace and that our citizens who were living in Mace plong in the seventies will probably remember of a very comely lady and littlo daughter who came to Mace from the East, and who visited 'riends and relatives in Mace and vicinity during the spring and summer. Wo withhold tho mother's name, while we will only make public the daughter's name aftor her marriage. It was while on this extended visit that Mr, Armstrong, (or little Albert it was then), formed a childish acquaintance with Lulu, or us she was then culled little Muy.) They were constant companions, ''wherever May went Albert was sure to go." In their play as children, keeping house under the apple tree, Albert would linger near, ready to answer little May's cull for more water and dust to prepare their childish feast, and while little May mixed the dust and wator together Albert stood by catching the apple bloBhouis as they fell and watching Mny-ns she deftely kneaded the musky mesa into shape and patted the mud pies with her "little brown hands." This is where and when love's fond dreaniB first entered the mind and heart of Albert. Whether he ever made known his mind to May then or not is beyond our knowledge. If so, littlo Muy either did not reciprocate or was false to her trust—far "out of sight, out of mind" with her. W# next hear of her being married at the tender age of 10—to a Mr. Edgerton, who lived in Michigan. Just one year after his marriage he was killed iu a ruilroad accident. Some two years ago, this same Albert, now grown, heard that May was once more free. His thoughts took a retrospective view of the time he passed under the apple troe watching little Mny change the dust into shapely pies, thought of her dimpled chin, her liquid brown eyes and golden brown tresses, her merry peals of laughter, and the sweet accent of her voice, of how she made sport of his bare feet and ill-fitting pants that were able to be out at the knees and at other points of constant wear. His longing became so great he could endure the long smothered paBBion no longer, and resolved to know his fate, and at once sent May a long reminiscence reminding her of days long ago. May's memory being very apt, and replying very favorably the letters passed frequently and the old postmaster at Mace thought he had struck a bonanza in the cancellation of stamps. In the course of time their letters became so full of sweetness it was with difficulty the }ostal clerks could handle them, and Albert nnd May thought letters were too slow away to communicate their their tender feelings, and from May's many solicitations Albert donned his best and armed with a through ticket, boarded the train to meet his brat love once more face to face.

After spending several days with May, nnd all the needed arrangements being made, he returned to Mace, and when the apple bloom begins to fall ho will be happily wedded to tho one of his choice. It will then be a surprise when it is known who she is.

The Juvenile Entertainment. The extreme coldness of the weather last night prevented many from attending the juvenile social at Good Templars' hall, nevertheless nn agreeable and appreciative audience was present. Miss Emma Buck, the Snjierintendent of Juvenile Templars, had charge of the exercises. The spelling match created quite an interest, nnd the honor was won by Mort Spillman. Miss Linnie Murray recited two poems, Goo. and Allen Sweeten, Charley and Arthur McGrigg one each, and were loudly applauded. W. P. Griest, that old-time Good Templar, was on hand, and gave the children some good advice. All in all the social was very successful, und the Juv eniles desire to express their thanks that so many people attended their enter tainment. .'

frank Richardson Victorious. Some years ago, Frank Richardson, a boy of Veedersbitrgh, who was employed in Coleman's saw mill, at thnt plaoe, had his eyo knocked out by the breaking of a band. Coleman lived at Indinnapolis and Richardson sued him there in tho Superior Court. A verdict was rendered against Riohnrdson and he appealed to the Supreme Court, where the judgment below was secured yesterday. Kennedy A Kennedy, of this city, and H. J. Millegan, of Indianapolis, appeared for Richardson, and Pcele A Taylor, of Indianapolis, for tho defendant. A change of venue from Marion oouuty will now probably be taken to Bome county where Richardson can fight Coleman on equal terms.
