Lillian Lewis.
No actress appears in Crawfordsvillo who has won staunch admirers than Lillian Lewis, the "Fair Lillian," as hor friends call her. She makos annual visits to this city, each time winning new admirers and each time playing to increased receipts, which of course gladdens the managerial heart and makes the "Fair Lillian" wear a smilo of contentment. She will appear here tonight as Lena Despard in "As In a Looking Glass," supported by the following cast: Balfour Edmund Collier Fortlnbras Arthur Elliott UroniliofT Walter R3'tinge Daisy... Italpli Itoll Sir Thomas Fred Monlc Operator Frank Hllllurd Footman Holierl Tcrrls Uidy Dainor j*oulse I'omeroy Felicia Mildred Hall l.udy Balfour Miss Mcrone Miss Vy«e .lennle Ciilbert Lllllim Lewis as 7...1.cua Despard
This is by long odds the best company that has ever surrounded Miss Lewis, and is in fact one of the best in America, as the list includes the names of several very distinguished artists. An oxchange says: "Miss Lewis handled theTpnrt of Lena Despard in a brilliant and mastorly manner and scored it number of hits, for which she was roundly applauded. The superb piece of acting by this estimable lady in the scene at. Monte Cristo, held the audience spellbound and her excellent support made it the masterpiece of the play. The grand finale between Miss Lewis and Mr. Collier was excellent and without a flaw. Tho death struggle was indeed well rendered."
Social Sensation.
The many friends of Mr. Francis MRariden and wife will bo pleased and gratified to learn that Mrs. Rariden has brought suit, for divorce. This highly entertaining diversion on the part, of Mrs. Rariden has been brought about by a number of causes, chief among which is Frank's all around worthlessness. This is pretty rough on Frank, but Mary says its as true as a patent medicine advertisement. People may be surprised, but actually Frank does very little to support bis family and dearly loves to pinch and slap his wife and children. He has the heart of a stern old Roman father who believes in schooling his children in adversity that they may be able to cope successfully in the great battle of life. He is a good man and a worthy citizen, but his wift wants a divorce all the same.
Death of Mrs. Nancy A. Julian. Mrs. Nancy Anne Julian died Thursday night at 9 o'clock at hor home near Wingate, of consumption, caused by tho grip. Nancy Anne Hays was born in Wnrren county, Ohio, July 1. 1825. She came to Indiana at the age of 4 years, and settled with her parents, Geo. and Mary Hays, in Montgomery county, near Whitesville. She was married to Azariah Julian November 3, 1850. She was the mother of eight children, four of whom are living and four dead. She was an earnest and faithful member of the M. E. church for fifty years.
Encourage Ur. James AlienIn his vast undertaking by placing your ad in the special edition. The rates are low considering the big ciictilation you will got. We will positively get out 6,000 papers, and thoy will bo mailed to every family in the county. Our aim is to make a big showing for Crawfordeville, and wo hope to have your business well represented as we are sure it will do you good. Just think of 6,000 papers before the people of tho county.
Wabash College Got 640 Aores. The previous statement that Wabash College was to reeeive 1,400 acres of land from the estate of Jacob M. Harmon, in Warren county, is incorrect as to tho number of acres going to the college. The 1,400 acres were involved in tlia suit, and Wabash College's portion was but 040 acres, the balance going to two heirs. This 640 acres is valued at $25 per aero, which would amount to 39,000

A Freak of a Hog.
Jasper Malsbury rnised a hog which is in the nature of a freak or rather wus, for the poor hog is now dead and perhaps eaten. After tho slaughter Mr. Malsbury discovered that ono of this hog's foro feet was provided with six toes instead of four. The two extra ones grew out to one side and on an extra bone which originated at the ankle.
