The Show Last Night.
The Two Old Cronies packed Musio Hall last night with a characteristic Christmas audience which while appreciating the good things said and done by the players was not enthusiastic enough to call the encores. The two jolly old fellows and Miss Norma Wills who took the part of "Violet Gush" were as entertaining and vivacious as ever. Miss Wills is one of the best singers to action that ever struck Crawfordsville and gave the most eminent satisfaction. The Two Old Cronies are all right as the manner in which they always draw demonstrates,

Somewhat Disturbed.
Thursday evening Messrs. Ramsey, Wasson and others of the Natural Gas Company drove in a wagon out to the fair ground reduoer "to see the gas come in." All except Mr. Wasson who was left to hold the reins got down and stood around the reducing station. With malice of the worst nature thit crowd determined to give Mr. Wasson a fright. In the first place he was made to throw away his oigar lost its fire might ignite the coming gas and cause a terrific explosion. Then at a preconoerted signal all who stood around the 'station in the gathering gloom broke and scatted in all directions crying in terrified voices that a tremendous explosion was inevitable. Through the fence and across the road they darted like frightened hares. For a moment Mr. Wasson sat back still in the wugon, then leaping to bis feet he cried: "I can't turn around' here! I can't turn around here!" .V
No one stopped or heeded him. Then came the sound of a whip vigorously laid on and in a shower of mud Mr. Wasson disappeared in the direction of Shannonnaleat a 2:08 gait. He returned later on but wilfully persisted in smoking a cigar to the imminent danger of all.

A Remarkable Family.
Tlae current number of tho Western Horseman contains a lengthy write up of Goo Grimes and his daughters. Mr. Grimes is statod as having one of the best records in tho world UB a driver, having given 17. fine irotters and 11 pacers their records. Tho Horseman has the following to say concerning Mr. Grimes' daughters which will be interesting to their young friends here: "Miss Lola GrimoB drove Riley, pacer, to a road cart, a mi in 2:194 over a mile track. Also drove the bay trotting maro, Wanetah, a mile over half mile track in 2:2(J.'(. Miss AVanotah Grimes, aged 14, drove Arch White, pacer, to an 80-pound road cart a full mile in 2:18',. beating the previous record of that horse 1J seconds, given to him by Mr. Grimes. The Grimes gills therefore hold the records for lady drivers of both trotters and pacers. The record of the Grimes family iB truly a remarkable one and furishes new evidence that will tell.
