There will be no lire water allowed and a good old-fashioned tune is expected. the Woman's Belief Corps lust Saturday passed resolutions congratulating Miss Lmma Connor for the noble stand she had taken in defense of the Hag and invited her to become a member of the corps. -The ladies of the 2d division of the Christian chinch wiil meet at the residence of Mrs. H. Miss Goslin threw her parents off the track boarding the train ostensibly for ierre Haute, but got off at Guion,where she met young Hicks. Tho elopers tool: a train there for Indianapolis where tlu-v were married yesterday evening. The young lady's family is eminently respected and is very prominent in the vicinity of Brown ailev. Lew Wallace's new book is expected to be ready for tho press by Ne year's. General Wallace is a most methodical literary worker. It Has Been Stopped,
Officer Huffman has taken a step in the right direction at tho Big 4 depot.. It has been an outrage on the traveling public that the hotel runners made such a horrible noise and occupied such a conspicuous place upon the platform in their efforts to secure pat roils for their respective hotels. Tho edict has gone forth that thoy shall hereafter stand at the doois of their respective 'buses, aid peace and quietude now reigns supreme once more.
At the Chrysanthemum Show. There was a large crowd went froiii here this morning to the Chrysanthemum Show at Indianapolis. Among them were J. A. Gilbert and wife, W. N. Lie and wife, Mrs. J. B. Milt Say lor, the young man referred to in so unenviable way, was a student in Wabash College during the years '87 and '88, but did not graduate. It is sad that he has come to grief.
Seven Thousand Dollars at Thorntown. Harvey Carson, of Thorntown, was in the city to-day. He says the People's Natural Gas Company desired that, iho citizens of Thorntown should subscribe 87,000 of the capital stock to make up tho deficiency of tho 875,000 which Crawfordsvillo had guaranteed.
