WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT IT.

Opinion of Our Neighbors on the Electric Light Flant and tho Banquet. L. O. liischof, editor tf tho Clinton Argus, was much pleased with his visit bore last Wednesday and devotes a column nnd a half of his paper to a description of the trip. Below area few selections from his article:

Wodnesday of this week the editor of the Art/UK, in company with a number of press representatives and city olticials from Frankfort, Sholbyvillo and other adjacent citioa, had the honor and pleasure of attending reception anu banquet given by tlio Mayor, city officials and business men of Cra-wfordsville in celebration of tho acceptance and inauguration of the city's own electric light system. In the short timo and space allowed us at this timo wo can not do justice to the splendid manner in which we wore received and entertained.

Tho beauty of it is that the

city runs and operates its entire light system. Over a year ago they began tho ngitation und it wns nover abated until tho plant wns completed and in operation. It is needless to say that tho entire system is perfect. Mayor W. O. Carr and councilmen Jeff \V. Scott, A. E. Reynolds and O. 11. .lones were tho coinmitteo who pushed the great, enterprise through to success, and thoy deserve much credit for their lidelity to tho interests of their city and tax payors. Thoy wero ljesiegod by electric light monoiolios who fought desperately to get their clutches fastened onlo tho people. Instead of yielding to tin clamor or taking stock themselves and fastening upon tho industrious taxpav ers of the city a contract that would tax the people for their leiielit they made a bold, aggressive tight for the public ownership of public light, and won The result is tho iiost system in the State, which gives tho people a line arc light at a cost of §i)5 per yo: r, all night run. Wo shall recall our visit to tho plnco with many feelings of gratitude. And inav she be like liglithousoon the shore by which other towns may guide tho administration of their public affairs.

Mr. Bishop also pays high tribute Wabasli Collogo, tho V. M. C. A. and our factories.

Tho Frankfort AVics say: Mayor II. D. Dunnington and the rest of the city officials who went to Crnwrordsville Wednesday to witness tho starting of that city's now electric light plant, returned homo last evening highly elated over tho manner in which tliov wore entertained during their Btav there.
