Prof. Xorris graduated from College in 1871 with high honors, and after attending a theological seminary preached a short time until he was called to All tho chair of mathematics at Wabash College, which he has occupied here for tho last fifteen years. In 1888 ho took a special course in civil engineering at Troy. N. Y., and on his return introduced tho degree of Civil Engineer at Wabash. At his new home in Laramie tho President of the State University made a pro)osition to him to deliver one or two lectures a week, on eival engineering which he is considering.
The Union Meeting.
The union meeting of the various Young People's Societies at the Christian church last evening was so largely attended that it was necessary for a good many people to stand up in tho aisles and corridors. The church was profusely and beautifully adorned with growing plants and the fountain in tho baptismal played merrily. Besides tho pastor, l»ev. W. S. Brown, there were present. Dr. B. J. Cunningham, Bev. G. W. Switzer and Bev. E. B. Thomson, all of whom assisted in conducting the meeting. The programme, interspersed with songs, was as follows:

Last week the Indiana Wire Fence Company turned out 220,000 pounds of manufactured wire. The Company iBso far behind with its orders that the force is compelled to work until 10 o'clock each night. Tho orders are accumulating so rapidly that this state of things will likely continue for several months.

Another one of Barnum's bill cars arrived in the city early this morning and a force of men are now at work putting up more bills. Seven teams were sent out to do additional work in thecountv. The program car will arrive in about a week.' .•••
