liam Henderson, a well-known attorney. has made some sensational developments in the matter of lien. Sturms' claim against the Mexioun government for arms and ammunition furnished during tho war with Maximilian. Sturms lias been prosecuting the claim, amounting to g!S,0»0.0l)i, for years, and Henderson and others were employed by him and made frequent trips to the City of Mexico In connection with the claim, lie was to pay them 830,000 for their services. Some time ago he settled with the government, taking £250,000 In full of his claim. The local attorneys then demanded their pay and Sturms refused to settle with them, saying that the payment of the members of the Mexican congress and tho state officials had practically absorbed all the money. Among those who were bribed were the state treasurer and assistant treasurer, the latter receiving some 54,000. Henderson Is In possession of some very damaging evidence against the congressmen ami state officials and lias made a report of the whole matter to the Mexican government. 11c proposes to carry it before the federal government and seek to recover the money which Sturms was obliged to pay the venal Mexican officials.
