The annoyance of breaking lamp-chimneys need not be borne.
Get tough glass chimneys. Macbeth's "pearl top and pearl glass" are tough against heat they do pot break, except from accident.
They are also clear, transparent, not misty or milky they fit and stand upright shape and proportions are right to direct the draft upon the flame.
They cost a little more than rough and wrong chimneys of common glass that break continually.

Trials Still Ahead Tor Charley. It is said -that when Oharloy Roberts has finished his fivo year's sentence far attempting to kill Marshal .Tamos Dorn, of Kontland, that he will again be arrested immediately. Thero is an indictniont for larceny also standing againBt him at Kentlnnd and ho will l.o putnthrongh for that. Roberts* is much broken up over tho outcome of his lato trial and his air of bravndo is said to have completely loft him.
How Oory.and Keating First Met. "There is something vory funny about the final outcome of the Cory-Keating meetings," remarko a well-known business man yesterday. "The way tho
Uiing started-was in the Sullivan boys getting mad at Cory. They wanted to see tho everlaeting^etnffing knocked out of him and hustling! up to Lafayette got Keating on the trail of the snap. He didn't find it such avenap as he expected at Shann'ondale and now -I guess he wishes he had never heard of Cory or the Sullivan boys either."

Campbell Baker's Misfortune. Tho Indianapolis
Journal
J.
mails.—IndianijKIii
gives tho
following particulars of tho accident which befell Campbell Baker, mention of which was made in yesterday's
JOURNAL:
"About noon yesterday tho eight-year-old son of Albert Baker, attorney, who lives on Pennsylvania street, above Fifth, was playing with other children in a vacant lot across the street from his father's residence. The grass in the lot is high and a eaqieiiter working upon a building near by had picketed his horse in the lot. The children played games of various kinds, and at last the lad Baker took a stick and began to tickle the horse. Tho animal at this kicked out suddenly, striking the child with his hoof squarely in. tho face. Dr. W. B. Fletcher was culled aud pronounced his face and noso broken, and Dr.
L. Thompson, the oculist,
pronounoed ono oyo wholly destroyed. The other is injured, though with a slight hope remaining that tho sight may be preserved.'' A. 15. Anderson this morning received a letter from Prof. Campbell in which he stated that hopes wore entertained that the eye could bo saved. The skull and nose are brokon but they will not bo perceptibly disfigured. If his eye can bo saved ho will be all right. A later dispatch says the Ixjy continues to improve.
Trying to Settle the Midland Strike. General Manager Crawford and Genoral Superintendent Moore, of tho Indiana Midland, were in tho city again Saturday night consulting with attorneys. Thoy are vory anxious to have tho strike on thoir lino settled, but don't seem to go about it in tho easiest, quickest way —by paying the men what iB due them. Tho road has not lieeti doing an exceedingly large umount of business, and funds in tho exchequer are very low. Still, if the management could get money enough to build an extension into tho Brazil coal field, it certainly could get sufficient money to pay its men Ex-Captaiu Bruce

A Speculation in Sheep.
About two or three months ago Charley Rountrcc, of Alamo, sold Mr. Sawyer, of the same place 15 ewes for $65, Tho other day Sawyer sold the wool to Insloy for 828.50. Ho also has 24 lambs worth 85 apeice, or $120 for the lot. This makes 8148.50 he has taken in on a $65 investment, and besides he still has his original principal of 24 owes. loft. The cost of keeping the sheep has been but nominal as they have boon upon pasture most of the time.
They Like Eaoh Other.
Thoro is perhaps no town in the State where the attraction or affinity between tho sexes exist to such a great oxtont as does Crawfordsville. Why only yesterday one of our southside residents put up a man scarecrow to keep the blaokbirds from carrying away tho chicken foed, whon last night a pretty paste board girl dressed in tho latest styloand representing the Coroline oorsot, ono of which she wore, was found as close to the man as possible and kneeling at his feet.
Tho Glee Club Concert.
Tho concert by tho Wabash Glee Club last night for tho benefit of Eddie Brundkamp was a great sncoess as far- as the music was concerned, but as to tho audience and receipts a great disappointment. However tho audience was very appreciative and the boys were received with an enthusiasm vory like that at Danville. Nearly every member was encored. It is to bo hoped tho club will appear again sonio time during commencement.
