The May Festival.

The orchestras of previous May Festivals have Ixf made up of members ijnused to playing together. Iinwever extvllent the individuals may be. this is a disadvantage. This difficulty will not exist at the coming festival. An organization will-be heard that has had weeks of drill on the Indianii]x,iis programme. There will be uo temporary players in the Thomas orchestra. The great director has gone into his work with great entlmsiam. Of course, nothing less than the most conscientious work could le exiected of him. When in addition to tho great attraction of this orchestra which alone draws great audiences, the improvement in drill and the enlargement of the chorus is considered, it is imjiossible to think of anything else than a grand musical feast, indeed. And. by the way, do you refer to the afternoons and evenings of the festival as "concert." The work "concert" is purposely avoided in the festival book as being weak and innapropriate. Programmes can be obtained of Geo. F. Hughes. The fostiviil begins Tuesday evening May 2G and includes two matinees and three evening ]erformances closing Thursday evening.

Allow rne to add my tribute to the efficacy of Ely's Cream Balm. I was suffering from a severe attack of influenza and catarrah and was induced totrv yonr remedy. The result was marvelous. I could hardly articulate, and in less than twenty-four hours the catarrhal symptons and iny hoarseness dLsap[ienred* and I was able to sing a heavy role in Grand Opera with voice unimpaired. I strongly recommend it to all singers.—U'm. H. Hamilton, Leading Basso of the C. D. Hess Grand Opera Co.
