Wednesday Evening, April 15, The Time Fixed That They Be Held. The Republicans of the different wards of the city nro requested to meet on Wednesday evening, April 15, at the following places to nominate a candidate for one Councilman from each ward to le voted for at the election to !e held on Tuesday, May 5, next:
FIRST WAHD—Township Trustee's office. SECOND WAHD—Clerk's oflice.
THIRD WAHD—Beulien Smith Bliop. The voting will be done on the primury plan nnd the polls will be open from (i o'clock to 9 o'clock p. m. Every Republican in the city is requested to 1x3 present and give expression to his choice of candidates.

Anniversary Meeting.
The anniversary meeting of the Y. M. C. A., which will be celebrated in their audience room to-morrow evening promises to be groat affair. Dr. Clockey's lecture should be heard by all who are able to get ont. It will be a rare treat.
Boy Tramp.
The boy tramp combination which appjars at Music Hall this evening is recommended by every one who witnessed their previous performance. The paople are all good, the show clean and tho scenery magnificent. Plenty of good seats still remain.
A Charade Party.
Capt. ,T. B. Ponce and wife entertained a number of young people last evening in honor of her niece, Miss Ada Pence, of Frankfort. Charades, rooster, animals and schoolmaster were the amusements of the evening. The hilaritv was continued until a late hour.
Entertained.
Last evening Misses Emma and Belle Johnson entertained a large number of their friends at their home on east Main street in most charming manner. Choice refreshments were served nnd music,dancingand cards woro tho amuse incuts which passed the evening most delightfully away.
Birthday Party.
Yesterday evening from four o'clock until eight Miss Edith Coons entertained her young friends in a right royal manner at her homo on East Wabash avenue. Nearly sixty guests were presont and the merriment was unconflned. The entertainment was superb and Edith is voted the model hostess by all present and participated in the general good lime. In the bean bag contest Miss Gertie Wheeler took the first prize and Charley Horron was awarded the booby. Miss Edith received a great many presents it being her thirteenth birthday.
Coombs In the Pen.
Captain McClasky returned from Michigan City last night, whither ho had gone with Charles Coombs. The Captain says that Charley braced up as soon as he got out of town nnd laughed and joked all the way up, apparently in tho best of spirts. He was taken in chnrge bv tho prison authorities nnd donned the stripes at once remarking that the clothes wero somewhat loud and for the first time in his life he felt liko a Crawfordsville d.ide at a lawn social. It had not been decided when the Sheriff loft what work ho would bo put at but Coombs asked that ho be not confined to work at a bench or stool and Capt. McClaskoy put in a request to to the same effect. Tho Warden stated to Mr. McClasky that CoombB would be given a good healthy work *. ::t:l he proved himself uuworthy
Byers and the Bruiser.
Constable Byors returned last night from Linden with Charles T. Siddons who was finod there for drawing a deadly weapon upon Zachnriah Bales. As Siddons did not have the money to pay his fine he was put behind the bars of the county jail. Constable Bvers thus expressed himself in regard to his charge.
That man is a regular desperado, a jumping johosaphat from the plains of Timbuctoo. He tried to get away from mo all tho time and had escaped from three constables on this very charge. I stepped on his heel about every three steps though and would grab him by tho coat tail whenever he got funnv so ho didn't have much chance. I intended to break his nock with my club if ho did start and fixed for him. After this I am going to put irons on everyone I arrest."

Junior Department committee.— D. P, Smith, T. C. Crabbs and J. A. bluir. Seven new members were elected last evening and it was decided to hold a committeeman's tea some time next week in order to bring tho committee together thai, the work may be planed and laid out. W. T. Whittington and N. C. McCay were elected delegates to the international convention which is held in Kansas City the first of next Mav. Tho lecture committee reported a net gain from tho course of S22.15 and an additional gain ot $11.45 the last concert.
A special committee, consisting of C. A. Miller, Sol Tannenbaum and J. M. ICeeney was appointed to retire and recommend a permanent committee to
have
charge of affairs and appoint subcommittees. Upon their recommendation the following gentlemen were made the permanent committee: W. C. Cam chairman, Gus Truitt. John Weidle* Robert Ross, Louis Bischof, O. B. Arms] H. S. Watson, William Webster, C. Galey and J. M. Schultz. It was decided' that, tho festivities should continue over a period of three days nnd a feature characterize each day. Tho Firemen Tournament, a Mardi Gras Festival and an Industrial Parade. The Mardi Gras will be on the nature of our llallow'een performance, tho people appearing in mask and having a general good time. Agent Watson, of tho Monon, will procure several beautiful floats for the occasion and some splendid features will bo introduced. The following resolutions was unanimously adopted:
