K. T. Banquet.

The members of Crawfordsville Commandery. No. 25. K. T., will give their stated banquet at their hall this evening-

No Counterfeiters.

Tlio counterfeits of tho two dollar silver certificate of the 188G series which have created such a furore in the east have not reached this city. None of the banks have come in contract with any of tlieni.

Next Monday Evening.

Uncle llirain will boat Music Hall Monday evening next. Says tho Franklin, Pn., A'eics: "Well, "Uncle Hiram's" a'l right. Such was the opinion last niglit of the biggest uudience that hns greeted any show at the opera house for a long time. In fact, the house contained all that it could seat, and there was a plentiful showing of slanders, straggled in the space back of the drets circle.

Fees and Friendship.

A funny racket occurred a short time ago between a couple of hot hoaded youug attorneys of this city. So raah did each talk to the other that they did not spenk as they passed by, But fees came in sight, tho calumet no longer Iwre a blood stain, and they entered'on tho defense of the same case side by side. Thus lawyers quarrels tlio out. This enraged pair and tho amicable adjustment of tho passions is an object lesson. Never let your anger stand in tho way of financial interests. N. H. The fee is not paid yet, and never be.

THEKNIGHTSOP RECIPROCITY.

iiets Have a Branch In Montgomery I County. The Knight of Heciprocity is sweeping the country with as much force as the Farmers Alliance did. All who can answer tho following questions in the affirmative are eligible to membership: 1 Are you in favor of the perpetuity of our Union? 2 Are you in fnvr of just and liber.il ]M'iisions to all honorably discharged si 1 lers and sailors of the Republic? 3. Are you in favor of tho protection of American industries? 4. Are yon in favor of fair and equitable reciprocity between all the nations on tho American continent? 5. Are you in favor of fair aud equi table reciprocity between all interest of our Nation? 6. Are you in favor of an intelligent ballot, honestly cast and counted? 7. Aro you in favor of disfranchising every citizen who offers ur accosts a bribe to influence a ballot

The leader of the movement is C. M. Travis in this city and he has made the following statement: 1 have received from the Supremo Lodge of the United] state's, Knights of Reciprocity, blank applications for charters to organize subordinate lodges in the state of Indiana. It requires six or more to organize a subordinate lodge.

A Pertinent Question,

It is far froin settled that Prof. John M. Coulter will leave Wabash college for the Presidency of the State University but it cannot lie doubted that ho is seriously considering a change. A pertinent question it therefore is. What are the trustees and friends of AVabash college going to do about it? Will they let him go without any effort to retain him If so they will show a remarkable lack of knowledge concerning what makes a college successful, It is not money so much as moil. All the money given the college in the last two years would hardly offsot the loss of Prof. Coulter. Tho citizens, the alumni of Wabash college and especially the students do most earnestly hope that tho trustees will act in this matter and act promptly.

Mike and Mary.

Mrs. Mary Crow, the noted fortune toller, who resides near the junction, is a complainant in the Mayor's court against Michael O'Neal, tho young Democratic politician and grocery keeper in that vicinity, charging him

with

rudely and angiely, maliciously and ii clenfly. touching, strik beating and brusing her body, yesterday dum a wordy war in which they wereengi (luring the construction of a fence in the vicinity of their respective homes. Maiy could look into the future and see what in i\vful fate awaited Mike in the li do'.vy unknown but could not wait vengeance, so hing, and Buck Brothers was dispatched forthwith to bring Mike into court, dead or alive.

Upon the organization of as many as five subordinate lodges a charter may be obtained to organize a grand lodge for tho State. I will forward to anyone a blank application for a charter, with such instruction as I am able to give, immediately on receiving request for same.

The proper thing for those who sym pathize with tho movement is to see Mr. Travis and proceed to organizo. Those who are willing to become charter members for the sulxirdinate lodge in this city should drop in at Travis and Brown's oflice, third door north of the |lost otllce, and sign the application. This morning Mr. Travis received ap plications for the necessary blankB from Portland, Dublin and Spencer. Tlio new order promises to lie one of groat magnitude and influence.

vV At Music Hall April 8. Warm weather did not prevent a full house at the Court street Theater last I night. Mine. Nueville and her son Au-| gustin with a good supporting company presented "The I?oy Tramp." The I many thrilling scenes and funny situations were applauded and laughed at to I the entire content of the audience and satisfaction of tho actors. The usual matinees will bo given during tho week. Morning Express, Buffalo, N. V.

The Sons of Veterans.

The stated meeting of the Sons of Veterans was held last night room in the Ornbaun block. Daniel was tho speaker from the G. A.

and he mado a rousing talk. The camp is slowly but surely getting strong footing and as the legitimate successor of the G. A. R., will eventually become powct in the community.

Baptising at the Foot of Washington Street* Elder Nowols, R. W. Thompson and Archie Brown will assist Elder Oliphant in holding meeting the last of the week at the Primitive Baptist church. There will lie preaching Friday night and on Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 a. m„ and at night. There will be baptizirg at 3 in., Saturday probably at tho tpot of Washington street.
