BURIED.

Aft*r Five Days of Suspense tlia I'ureutsof Miuta Wilson Oousentto Interment. In Saturday's Jouunai. mention was made of the case of Miuta Wilson conooruiug whoso death there was so much doubt ou account of the remarkably life like appearance of tho corpse. Saturday eveuiug tho body was taken from the colliu aud a greater partof Saturday night aud yesterday morning was passed in fruitless attempts to restore what appeared to be suspended animation. Ti feet were bathed in hot water, and musard poultioes freely uppliod to various p.irU of tho body which was worked with before a hot stove. All etl'orts were in vaiu and the spark of life which seemed to linger failed to buru. A female faith doctor, Mrs. St. John

Koosa, refused to believe that death was presout even after tho others had given up iu despair. She prepared a warm eouoootiou coutaiuiug whisky and other stimulatiug ingredients and poured it down the child's throat hoping that it might succeed where other remedies had failed. Nothing came of it, however, and liually Dr. Gott arrived and opeued several veins. The result of this experiment only continued the former opinion of the physicians that the child was dead. No blood tlowed from the opened veins and all postmortem appearances were exhibited. The body was then replaced iu tliecofliuaud hot irons were applied to the feeti^V'

At 1 o'clock yesterday afternoon' although there was no apparent change iu the appearance of the body tho parents became reconciled to the belief that death was really present aud decided to announce the fuuenil for 2 o'clock this afternoon. Tho body has not yet begun to decompose and the same suppleness and color are present. Mr. Voris, the undertaker, states this is due to the embalming tluid which was uot uppiied internally but externally.

An autopsey was made.this moruiug by three physicans, and it was found that the girl had been dead from tho tirst. An absc&ss hud completely enveloped the left lung aud knotted the right so that no doubt of the death oould exist. The only wonder being that the child hud lived so long. The funeral took place this afternoon at two o'clock.

A Post Mortem Reveals the Uause of Daisy Wilson's Death. To The

Editor Journal.

in consequence of tho excitement which has )eeu caused by the death ol Daisy Wilson, 1 deem it due and beuelicial to the public that I should make a statement of her case. On the 30th ult. 1 was called to eee Emma Wilson,a youuger sister of Daisy, who was sull'ering with erysipeles. Mrs. Wilsou cidled my attention to Daisy whom she said hail been sick for lour mouths with an enlargement of her chest and cough. 1 examined her and found that the upper part of the left ch'. st was bulged ou'. She was pale and thin, presenting the appearanae of a person with consumption. I diagnosed abscess of the left lung and prescribed tonics. On Sunday, Fob. 1, three days after my tirst visit, I found her in bed with a high fever, temperature 103J, and very sick at the stomach, which symptoms continued, in spite of medicine, until Wednesday night when.she died.Iwas called by the family again on Friday afternoon, they having come to the conclusion that Daisy was not dead. Dr. Keegau accompanied mo and we found that with the exception of a waut of rigor mortis or stifl'nesM of tho body and redness of the lips, uothiug peculiar, she web cold in death. The publicknows the rest. To day tho parents requested a postmortem and accordingly

Drs. ltaukin, llistinu and myself jirooeeded to make it. We found tirst a iurgu absccss in the upper part of the left lung, in fact the lung was entirely destroyed. The right lung in consequence of pressure from the amount o! I in itter in the loft lung was almost enI tirely destroyed. In tho second place we found at least a quart of serum oi bloody water in the- chest which explained the high fever. It showed that with the rest of her trouble she hud pleurisy which was the cause of her fever. This was ceituinly enough to destroy life and it shows how useless it was for her friends to expect her to return to life. Tho body showed that de composition had sot in some time ago.
