Won't Sell His Goods,

11 will be remembered that during tlio Pettit trial it came to light that he had a quanitv of household goods stored with Mrs. liobert Carter at Odell. Not long since a gentelman carriod word to Pettit from Mrs. Carter, that she was willing and anxious to buy these goods but wnnted them removed if he didn't care to sell. Pettit refused to sell and a few days ago^liis attorney, T. Arthur •Stuart, went out to Odell and spirited tho goods oil' to Lafaj jtte where they are now presumably with Harry Linouster. These goods are very elegant and of the latest pattern, many of them being presented to Pettit by his Shownee Hock in palmy days gone by. His retaining them in his possession evidently signifies his intention of going to housekeeping if evidently cleared.

The total price of the property stolen was not over 20 mts, but he has nevertheless been placed under a 8200 bond and will have to answer for the offense if convicted. His bondsman is Wui. Houlihan.
