As was duly annonnced at 12 o'clock last night by the ringing of nil the city bells and the explosion of a few lonesome fire crackers, the year 1890 passed out and gave away to the year of grnce, 1891. There are of course many regrets, felt if not expressed, for things that are pessed, Bins of omission and ains of commission are repented, but the retrospective feelings are not all of a regretful nature. One of the most social events of the season occured at the hospitable home of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Pritchard last Saturday evening. The old year was ushered out by the ringing of bells aud blowing of steam whistles. Our citizens at first wondered what part of town was on fire when they heard theraoket, then they realized that '90 was dead and '91 was liere.
