Ivabo never works up 01 down or breaks. If it does in a year, you shall have your money back from the store where you bought your corset.
The steels may break— the best of steels have their limits of strength. But Kabo has no breaking-limit it doesn't break at all.
And the Kabo corset is perfect in form. The store has a primer on Corsets for you.

MONEY IN IT.
Are people wno spin oat their brains in books and newspapers for tho public reading eo wretchedly paid as is Claimed? It way be that the pay is often as good aa the writing, in theso days of words und loose, scattering writing, and thus after all those who pay tho writers manage to "inake the punishment jit the crime." Writers ought to be made to understand that in this, tho day of blanket newspaiiers, when the public are wearing out their eyesight trying to keep up with current events, two words used when one would bare answered the purpose is a crime and nothing short.
Thero is, however, at least one man in America who lias a handsome income out of literary work. His name is not heralded to the world by the trumpet of fame. No savage reviewer drives him mad by a spiteful dissectiou of his best sentences. In fact hardly anybody knows tiis name at all, so modest and unassuming he is. Vet his writing is read by more people than perhaps any other literary work except the Bible ever wan. It is under tho eye of the public every day, and they read it always with renewed interest. It is good writing, too a model for journalists, brief, terse, not a word too much, yet it Bays all that is necessary. It is crystal clear as to its meaning. This man who •writes can discern tho moaning of current events and put it before his readers better than almost any leading editorial writer in America.
He is said to earn $35,000 to $10,000 even- year by his pen. He is the writer of advertisements for a number of the largest business firms in the country.
Wnn.i: England proclaims in favor of free trade iu a manner which would indicate that she collected no revenue whatever from customs duties, or in fact not very much from any source, the truth is she to-day levies aud collects annually nearly §100,000,000 from cut tomsj duties, and what is still worse, these duties are levied in the main and almost exclusively ou the necessaries, and not tho luxuries, of life. In 1SSS her customs duties were §97,879,380, and over §23,000,000 of which amount was levied on tho single article of tea, nearly §1,000,000 ou cofl'ee, §1,5S7,553 on currants, $355,000 on chicory, §S83,
OOOon raitions,§41i,707ou cocoa,§20,790 on prunes, aud §146,220 on tigs. But aside from this the poorer classes iu England ate ground to powder by taxa tion. Everybody is taxed. Tho hum ble householder, tho tradesman, pro fessional man, public officers, deaths legacies, wills, probates, etc. Those who prefer tho English free trade turitl' to the American protective taritl' should emigrate.
A colossal combination has bean made among the mower ami ronjier manufacturers of America. Cyrus H. McCormick is its president. Binding twine is an essential attendant on harvesting, therefore tho cordage factories have been invited to join tho combination, and many of them have accepted. The syndicate declares on its, word of honor that it •will supply fiirmers with harvesting machinery and binding twine cheaper than they have ever had it before.
Op the soldiers whose names wero on the pension rolls at lndianapoliis -119 died during November. The old boys ore rapidly passing away.
The State Treasurer of Arkansas is short in liis accounts §07,000. It is unnecessary to say lie iu a Democrat.
Lillian Lewis.
Miss Lillian Lowis will appear nt Music Hall to-night in her now play, "Credit Lorraiuo." Tho BitllimoroSun says: The presentation of "Crodit Lorraiuo at tho Holliduy Street Theater last ovoning was a splendid dramatic triumph. It proved in even- seuse a perfect ami gratifying realization of all that tho audience expected. Miss Lowis, and in faot tho entire company, received repeated aud enthusiastic encores at tho termination of every scone. "Credit Lorraine" is e, prououueed success and cannot fuil to merit popular appreciation. The play is grandly staged and tho supporting company, which includes W. A. Whitecar aud Archibald Cowper, is excellent. The gorgeous costumes of Miss Lewis are superbly magnilioout. She is undoubtedly tho most beautifully drosscd artisto of the present ago. In her grand impersonation of Lenora Di Castigliona she loses self and is a living exemplification of tho character she assumes. "Credit Lorraine" is repleto with intense interest. Tho plot is ingenious, deep and natural. In a word, the outire production is faultless.
Haywood is Satisfied.
Prosecutor Huywood is well satisfied with the allowance of $1,500 made to himself and Colonel Wilson by Judge Snyder at Crawfordsville yesterday, for their labors in the prosecution of Pettit for murder. To a Lafayette Courier reporter he said: "I think Judge Snyder treated me very kindly indeed. He could liavo made no allowance that would have recompensed me. I am out of pocket considerably nioro than I expected to recover. Since tho trial began I have had to pay Mr, Wood for attending business here. Then I have lost several thousand dollars in not being able to look alter the tax ease-." Mr. Haywood further stated that Air. Anderson would come in for au equal share of Uio allowance. "I would bo a pig," he continued, "'not to share with him. Ho did lots of good work in the case.".
