The T-'.abo corset, besides being '^h, so tough in its bones" °that they can't be broken or kinked or rolled up or slipped or shifted, has flexible loop eyelets, instead of metal ones which cut the corset laces.

A LITTLE QUEEN.
There aiv now iu Europe three child heirs to thrones. Ono is tho little king of Spain, Alfonso XIII, 4 years old, whose wiso and popular mother, Qneen Christina, is regent during his minority. King Alexander of Servia is now 14 years of n-re, and his kingdom is in tho hands of a council of three regents till he is permitted to hold the reins himself. Then comes (he little girl queen of Holland, 10 years old, whose mother. Queen Emma, a lady already endeared to the Dutch OM ••avowant of her high spirit and shrewdness a? woll as her kindliness, will ni'ie for ti young Wilhelmina during her chi. ood.

But ono pleasure sho can never know—that of falling«in love and choosing her own sweetheart as the very poorest American girl may do. For Princess Wilhelmina is already betrot hed. Tho arrangement was doubtless made by her far seeing mother. The fair haired child is betrothed to Prince William, eldest Bon of Duke Adolphns of Nassau. The bite King William, Wilhelmina's father, was king of Holland and duke of Luxembourg. But in the dncliy of Luxembourg the Salic law prevails, .Mid consequently no woman can rule it. When William died, therefore, although his daughter became quaen of Holland, the could not hold tho dn-jliy of Luxembourg, which accordingly passed out of the family and -•to the next heir, Princo Adolphus of

Justice Samuel F. Miller was tho senior justieo of tho court. As such it was his iluty to welcome tho new chief justice niul extend to him his liatiil. Miller stood beside Chief Justice Fuller as tho judges took their respective places. Mr. Fuller was smalt, delicate and slight as a woman, making with his snow whito h:iir and lonfj, flowing white mustacho a striking nppearauce. Justice Miller was over sis feet in height and nmssivo framed in proportion, like tho big Kentuckinn ho was. Ho towered above Mr. Fuller liko a giant, tho proportions of each appearing more pronounced by the contrast.
Justice Miller was regarded by many lawyers in both political parties as the ablest exjionnder of constitutional law in^is time. His mind was admirably .fitted to his magnificent physique. For twenty-eight years ho has endured tho cramped quarters and bad moral and physical air of tho United States coHrt room at Washington without weakening. In 18i:G ho was old enough to retire under tho law permitting chief justices to resiijn tit the ago of 70, with honors and their full salaries continued tho rest of their lives. But astico Miller showed not a trace of either physical or mental weakening at tho ago of 70, and so continued on at his duties, dying, sa all workers wish to die, in harness.

"Buddhism in its highest state and Unitariamsm aro just the same," says Mr. Kontaro Kaneko, a member of the Japanese privy council. Whether this is a compliment to Buddhism or Unitariauism wo leave tho reader to dccide. But it shows how easily and gracefully tho amiable Jap's religion sits upon him when it is mentioned tliat many of the most cultured of tho Japanese, both in official and private life, actually proposo to "flop," so to speak, over from Buddhism to Unitarianism, just for the purpose of being in harmony with the western world, whoso customs they aro adopting. They do not do this from any profound convictions either of conscience or spirituality, bnt because it is the proper thing. Unitarianism is the form of Christianity that will make the transformation most easy therefore, say tha advanced thinkers of Japan, lot us adopt Unitarianism as wo adopt trousers and French millinery.
The Unitarians are to be congratulated on this accession of millions of converts to their ranks, but how will tho rest of the Christian world, who have spent a thousand dollitrs for converting the heathen where the Unitarians have spent one, regard this kiud of a change in religion'/
Mr. Fttkuzawa, an eminent Japanese author, advises his countrymen to make the leap from Buddhism to Unitarian Christianity in these words:
Let lis take it, not bceause it is Lrue, but becaus" it is the creed of the most ln^bly civilized nations, and Japan .should wear the same dress as her neighbor*, with whom sh* desires to stuud well.
