Both Better and Cheaper.
The Royal Baking Powder, as an actual fact, is the most economical in use of any made, because of its greatly superior strength.
OAMJOUKNAI
Both the United States and Canadian Governments in the reports of their investigation of baking powders have published this fact officially.
i. The other baking powders known in this vicinity arc shown by chemical tests to contain from 20 to 80 per cent, less leavening-gas than the Royal. So the
Royal, even should it cost more than the others, would be much the cheaper.
In addition to this the superior flavor, sweetness, wholesomeness and delicacy of the food raised by Royal Baking Powder ..^ould make any difference in cost -insignificant.

This was such a choeitui ehaugo fom the clouds aud wet roofs I had looked out at so many mornings before, that 1 lost no time iu geltiug ready to improve tho day we had been waiting for. It was not ijuite seven o'clock when got down sUiiis—early enough to see tho sun come out over the top of the mountains ucioss the bay. it was a buatiful

The bav was miart and lively with many tishing boats lm.vmg out to the grounds, their sails just tilled, no more, with the first wind of the early morning. At breakfast the waiter siid I wouid have line day to go lip sir, aud further sa the "mountain was working liuely" because so much smoke was being expelled. After breakfast I went dowu to tho Cooks, iust at tho other end of tho Villa N'atioail, (the pirk along tlinbaym front.

part of Naples, then toward tho bav, as you reach tho gate and p.iss int'" the suburbs. It. wns the tirst time 1 had Been street life so early in tho morning—half pist eight is early, where no one believes in getting up until what would seein late, to us at home. The streets wore full of poople hurrying along to their places of business, just about as you would see in any largo city. Many were riding in, as we got further out from town and among tho conveyances I saw tho "cab" that not so long ago was tho common cue of Naples. A cart, of course—a long body ou very high wheels throe seats in the b"dy aud a foot board to hold all who could hang on behind. The fare must bo very choap ou those victories of old, as all were crowded with tho poorer l'-ople. After leaving the city the wav leads along the Baj', but uulcss you look carefully, this fact, might escape you. Tho shore is lined with villas aud, as 1 have st ited before, the yard or garden of a home is never presented to the
Htreet. l-'or this reason, because you see only the b..ck walls of the houses, you seem to bo still in a street, in tho the city, nifdead of out well into the country. Sometimes the great carriage doors would be open—then'1 could see into the garden after along drive wav, aroheil with irees, could be seen through these doors—you could look away down its length and see the glistening waters of Uie sea. Fiaces that look very dull aud dirty and common, at the rear wall, show inside, a most delightful lawn aud gaiden, the other wall of which is tue sea wall itself, anamst which the waves dash aud brouk—an inquisitive person can walk by mid look in here. After a little, we left this shore aud turned inland, fur we wore near tho foot of tho mountain where the climb wastobvgiu. Along tho lower slopes, on both sides as lur an we could see, were the rich vineyards. from here comes the famous native wine, Lacrimi Christi. At nearly early every cott ige we parsed, some of the poople would run out. otVermg us bottles oi 11ii't wine. About hero, where the grade of the road prevents ai.y fast driving, where the cheerful, piot.uieMiue rascals kuew tliev had us, the beggars began to crop us, aud how they did snap, about an even hundred bushels to the acre and not a very good season either. Beggars are either very old or very voting very weak and hardlv utile to hobble along or very strong aud able to turn Uip-flops, staud ou their heads, etc. arc very bright-eyed aud quick to see a weakeuiug grin oomo over your face end your hand start towaid your pocket, us some little brat, more than usii'dly taunod and brown and beautiful beguile tho copper from you or on the other hand are stone blind, with great, empty, starvmc sockets turned up to you, instead of the eves that were once as bliick anil glistening as t.ioso ol the little girl who leads the bimd man your carriage aud your centimes. I saw but few of Uie blind or the crippled. We were usually surrounded by a mob ot laughing, shoutiug little bovs aud girls—the former doing their acrobatic feats with much fuu aud noise, the latter holding up some tlowers, They were all giving something in return for your money. Directly, as they saw their drawing power fail they I fell away buliind. Then came four men with guitars aud miiudolius, who walked I behind tlio brake, singing ami p'aying the pretty airs you soon get to know when iu .Wplos.
