Miss Marlowe as Viola.

Indianapolis Journal, Sept. 10: In hor interpretation of tlio role of Violo in "Twelfth Night" Miss Julia Marlowe essayed what is easily the most difficult task demanded by her repertoire this week. Yet sho acquitted herself creditably, and her charm of face, tiguro, voice and notion never blended more harmoniously. She takes most kindly to male attire, and as a Bosalind and a Viola she is destined to oooupy oonspiouous figure on the American stage. The touching scene between Viola and tho Duke, wheromusiomakes hor spoak in so masterly away of love, was finoly rendered. So, too, where Violo, in nuswor to the Duke's fancied greatness of his love, gives him suoh hints of her own far greater affection that no man not blinded by a phantasm oould have failed to catch tho meaning of the words, So, again, the scene when tho man she adores threatens lier with death, and she will take it joyfully from him, whom she deolares sho lovea more than life, and finally, reciprocation of her love by the Duke. All this was finely done, and we foel indebted to Miss Marlowe this week for a Bosalind, a Julia and a Vio'n that will long remain in the memory of those who witnessed her dainty personation of them. Her support was good.
