Now it may be some mouths before Ben trains with the Democrats, but he'll come to it, he'll come to it. And when he does chuige it will surprise you to see how radical lie will lie."

Prof, Allen Resigns.

Prof. All. n, the efficient piinc'pal ol the Lincoln colored school,lias tendered his resignation to the school boird to take effect in tv, weeks. No successor has been as yet chosen. Piof. Allen goes to ludianapolis to take the position of literary editor on the "Freiinau," the largest colored paper in the world. Ho will also do other literary work. His salary is to be §25 a week and free transportation. The paper has circulation of 25,01)0 and employs 25 reporters. It is with regret that the patrols here dispense with the services of Prof. Allen, who has given the most eminent .satisfaction here. Vet all rejoice with him in his geod fortune.

The Robhsis of Haury Clements Oauglit, As has been before stated Henry Clements was totibed at Ladoga a wo-k ago Mo uby night of his gold watch, chain and some money. He states that he was drugged by some men who then stole his pioperty. These men were Dau Deuni.-i and Bill Mclver. Melver is now in jail at Ladoga, and an officer has gone to Cairn ron Springs ufter Deuuis. Mclver is a man with a history. Some years ago lie inherited between S-10,0(W und £00,000, which he wasted in riotous living and is now in jail with a splendid prospects of a term iu the pen.

This committee will report next Moudt.y night. Before I'djournmeut, GuslCurlewas given permission to build a metal covered stable iu the rear of his west Main street business room.
