T'.'o alontgomory delegation returuetl »rom the State Convention yesterday evening happy in tho consciousness of duty well performed. The ticket nominated from top to bottom is oomposed of exoollent material and of winning qualities, Tho Montgomery delegation had two objoots in view. Ono was to assist in Beloctiug a ticket that would make harmonious wholo and tho other to have a Montgomery county man in the person of Prof. J. M. Coulter recognized as the proper man to round out its completeness. The delegation organized by making Jaoob Joel its chairman and quietly went to work to aohievo success. Under tho leadership of its ohairman the delegation retired from tho Held victors in tho friondly contest Prof. Coultor had 950 out of tho thirteen hundred and odd votes, thus completing a tiokot that will challenge tho admiration of the voters of the State. It was a good humored and earnest convention throughout. Tho good news from Maine was an inspiration and the proceedings throughout were characterized by enthusiasm and determination to pioce Indiana in the line with tho Pino Tree State. The platform is long, too long in fact, but overy word, sentence and paragraph can bo oudorsed by all genuine Republicans. It puts forth no uncsrtain sound ou all public questions aud is evasive on none. The campaign is now on. Tho light will be short and it ought to be sharp and decisive.
