The stockholders of tho oolliu factory met the other evening and elected the following Hoard of Director*: C. M. Crawford, J. S. lirown, Henry Camp bell, it. E. Bryant, W. P. llerrou, J. V. Death of Mrs. Mary Beach. Mrs. Mary J. Bench died to day at 12 p. in. at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. IIlisted, on the corner of Washington and Chestnut streets. Mrs. Bench was 00 years of nge and has boon a suftercr from paralysis which caused her death. The funeral occurs to-mor-row at 2:!!0 p. m. at tho residence of her daughter, Kev. G. W. Switzer olliciutiug. Tho burial will take place at tho Odd Fellows' Cemotery.

Little Elsie Russell, a member of Miss Miss Mattie Julian's Sunday school class 1.1 Center church, recently gave startling and dcsei rod send oil' to the fashionable dressmakers. Ewryono of tho class was assigned tho task of oommitting one of the beatitudes for recitation. Elsio was given, "Blessed are (he peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God," but she nonplused all present by piping in a shrill troble, "Blessed are the dressmakers for they shall be called tho children of God."
Mr. Pettit in New Quart, rs. The repairs at the jail have necessitated some obangos and Mr. l'ottit has been removed to tho largo cell in tho women's department up stairs, llo is much pleased with his now room as it is a larger, better ventilated ami in many ways more convenient than the old coll in the rotary. It also allbrds him a much better opportunity for study and reading on accouut of its comparative privacy. Ho will bo allowed to retain his now quarters permanently as it will save the turnkey much trouble and be a gruat convenience to tlio many visitors.

The marriage of Professor Robert G. Gillurn and Miss Helen Gilbort occurred last evening at tho residonoe of tho bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Josoph Gilbert, 011 Fruit Ridge avonuo. The Rev. Dr. Crum, pastoi of tho Congregational ohurch, performed tho niarriago ceremony in tho presi-nce of tho imniodiate relatives of the family. Professor Gillurn holdB the chair of physics and chemistry in tho state Normal school and Miss Gilbert has beou librarian of the scliool for several years.
