i! GARRULOUS GARRETT.
Not
The Pie-faced Burglar 8ays He Did Take Walkup's Money. As stated in yesterday's Journal the wife and sister of Johnson Garrett came to the city night before last. They have not been idle since their arrival, but have raised heaven and earth in the self confessed burglar's behalf. Garrett is now out with a now confession, claiming that Hudson whom ho at first exonerated, did the stealing. Hudson was released upon Garrett's stateme.it, and is now out of reach. This story seems tolerably full of air, androally places him in a worse situation than he was at first. As a confessor is fast becoming a rival of Cotlee, and is evidently fishing for a good long sentence. Judge Davidson has been secured as attorney by the gentleman and his plea of guilty may bo withdrawn, and an attempt at standing trial made. The case will probably be disposed the first of the week.
