The Ideas of Our City Oouncil and Messrs. McNulty and Law Do Not Coincide. The latest advices in regard to the street car system is that Crawfordsville will not have one. Mayor Russell wrote to Mr. MoNulty at Bloomington immediately after the informal meeting of the Counoil when his street car ordinance was discussed and told him that the Council could not pass it, at the same giving the outlines of an ordinance which would be favorably considered. Mr. MoNulty has replied saying that he and Mr. Law could not invest profitably under the conditions proposed.
The Oity Finances Wanted.: Superintendent Porter, of the eleventh oensus, is making vigorous inquiry about the finannial affairs of the oity. Mayor Russell received a circular, asl ing for the financial reports

A scaffold at Waterloo, la., fell Thursday, precipitating Jack Long and Wilder Bardeon eighty-flvo feet. Long was killed and Bardeon was seriously injured.
