The members of the G. A. 11. Post aud the Womans' Relief Corps will give asocial to-morrow night at post headquarters. There will be no refreshments served and will be freo to all. The entertainment will consist of music and short addresses. Tho object is simply to have a good social time. Williams. Besides a full attendance of cadets, a large number of visitors were present. Upon bell ilf of the batallion, Col. J. Charley Davis and Mrs. Ella Peterman were married lust evening at tho homo of the bride's mother, Mrs. McClure, at Wesley. The solt-nm ceremony was performed just at half past seven by Rev. G. Fuson, ot this city. Mr. and Mrs. Davis cumo to Crawfordsvillo this afternoon and immediately settled down to housekeeping at tho residence of Mrs. Fannie Coates. Charley is tlio popular and hustling baggage mau for Bayless. Those present at tho wedding from this city were Bige Bayless and wife, Dubby Wasson aud wife, Miss Jessie Swift, who teaches school at Wes ley, and Walter Rosbro.
The Union Meeting.
A large audience was in attendance at tlie revival meeting last night at tho Y, M. C. A. Armory. The singirg was led by J. H. O «bor no. Rev. R.J. Cunningham ham dolivored tho address founding his remarks on the 21st verse of tho 42nd chapter ofGenes's: "And they aid to one another, Wo are rily guilty concerning our brother, in that we saw the anguish of lus soul, when he besought us, and we would not hear JJiereforo is this distress eomo up in us." This was the language of Joseph's brethren after they had gone down to Egypt to buy corn. Although Joseph hud not made himself known to them yet their oonsoiences accused them. And so with us as sinners. Our consciences aocuse us and we feel our guilt. At the conclusion of tho Doctor's interesting sermon, prayer was offered by Rev. F. H. Hays and Fred Rosebro. Services will be held to-night. Mr. Stepenson, one of the Evangelists from Chicago, will be here on Friday afternoon and desires to meet thoasingers after the services that evening. Mr. Hyde will be here on Saturday and will begin work on Sunday I afternoon.

Cornelius Smock came into existence when the l'.lth century was fifteen days old. Therefore to day Mr. Smock celebrated his 8!)th birthday. The old gentleman's age is telling on him. Two years ago he gave up his old custom of cradling a little wheat every year. He still reads the newspapers though, having been a subscriber to tho Cincinnati Gazette since beforo the war.

The Possibility of Manufacturing Sugar in This City From Beets Raised in This County.
The 13usiness Mens' Association at its last meeting discussed tho possibility of introducing a groat many facto ios into this city, and now THE JOUHXAI. respectfully brings forward tho idea of establishing a boot sugar factory in our midst. A sugar factor would bring all the benefits to the city that any other factory would and besides would gi\i tho farmer a now avenue for his industry. For of course if wo have a beet sugar factory the boots will bo raised right hero in Montgomery county. Peter S. Kennedy, who is making a study of tho beet sugar question recently recoiveil letters from both Secretary of Agriculture Rusk and Congiossmnn Brooksliiro. saying that seeds will be furnished to those who wish to experiment. It is probable that Mr. Kennedy will discuss the question at tho next meeting ot tho Farmer#' Council which occurs on Feb. 27.
