Where Was the Chier?
Is the question asked by the Argus News. If the eagle-eyed scribe had braved the smoke and heat, he would have seen the chief at his post of duty. As for the firemen losing their heads, that is simply the opinion of would-be critics, who stand around at every fire ready to dictate to the department how the work should be done. While the department is battling with the flames and risking their lives, would it not be more manly on the part of the Argus .News critic to learn the facts in the case before criticising something he knows nothing about?
